"Gemini can make mistakes, so double-check it" 😂 Ask about WYSIWYG editors, it researches 77 websites and returns with an apology and a response about "recent developments in Italy"

it's pretty frustrating to see a video on the home page of youtube, misclick the "Includes paid promotion" thing that suddenly appears. this navigates away from the home page, and using the back button shows completely different results on the home page. the one video I was interested is gone now.

This method of infiltrating seems similar to "Jia Tan" with XZ utils. Exhaust and overwhelm. Manufactured sense of urgency to bypass security controls. Use of multiple coordinated "sock puppet" accounts. Suspicious endorsements from unknown community members.

We gotta reject “Well, RFK jr. is right about some things” and accept “if we don’t confront the real problems with our systems, it becomes much easier for con artists like this guy to manipulate people.”

imo a lot of AI companies missed out on holiday sales because there's not a good way to just buy a subscription for other people. you can invite, but no gift card-like experience.

i know i'm weird. but anyone else always have seemingly random but consistently simple words just ready to serve as filler words. banana, chicken, tacos, and a few other words that my goofy ass references when im bored and it's quiet or generating random stuff with ai

A real-life case study in anonymous internet harassment and insider threat: I must sadly retract my endorsement of Kevin Crawley, as I have recently learned he is a Kiwi Farms member. I believe he may pose a safety risk to his colleagues, or even to his employer. www.linkedin.com/posts/efong_...

🎉 So happy that Slack has followed @github.com with the UX of creating a hyperlink by selecting text and pasting iff the clipboard contents are a url. Genius UX. Everyone building an input accepting markdown or rich text, please do this!

the biggest "problem" with the openai realtime api, is you need a websocket server, a complete pain in the ass to setup on any infra ...except cloudflare. 150 loc, take it, remix it, do whatever you want with it. deploy in seconds. and it works on the free plan. repo: github.com/cloudflare/o...

True story: 14 years ago I wrote one of the letters of recommendation Guillermo needed to get a visa so he could live and work in this country. And now here he is congratulating the party of mass deportations. What the fuck, Guillermo. What the fuck.

😮 Bluesky pro-tip: in the accessibility settings, you can enforce that the images you post must have alt text. This is important for folks who use screen readers. Instead of seeing the image, the supplied text will be read to them instead.

This is exactly why we open sourced workerd and built miniflare. Local dev with the actual Cloudflare Workers runtime, not “something like it.” Other places I’ve worked told devs “no, you’re wrong to want this. Want what we give you.” Never a winning strategy.

It matters more than I'm giving credit for. That's why I'm advising companies to bring a cloud like experience to the local laptop. That could mean cloud hosted control planes, with the data plane running locally. It can be the best of both worlds. Docker Desktop is attempting to do this.

You are up to date.
