The comments on YouTube for the talk are running 50-50 "we will never automate code review, you're crazy" and "we already automated code review, you're crazy".

This is literally the end of the rule of law. If a President can pardon people committing crimes on his behalf - and the Supreme Court says he himself can't be prosecuted for crimes committed as part of his job - then the government becomes a lawless entity able to violate our rights without limit.

I wonder if that BBC cybersecurity expert who'd never heard of PHP will ever appear on tv again.

Walking the dog I overheard two guys on the street in San Francisco. One was explaining to the other, extremely inaccurately, what PHP is.

Once mass spam texts were made legal, younger donors vanished, leaving a grassroots fundraising machine that subsists on squeezing vulnerable seniors, some of whom give hundreds of times a day. It’s a horrific model. Consultants get generationally wealthy, and the party hollows out its future.

We found that as of right now 73% of your campaign donation goes back to the consultants and vendors (!!!), four times more than just 20 years ago. Only 13% to ads. Even I was shocked.

These people can all die in a fire.

Democratic congresswoman Kathy Castor of FL-14 becomes the latest anti-transgender Democrat. When asked if she supports "biological males in girls sports," she cheerfully and forcefully says "THE ANSWER IS NO!" with a huge smile on her face, laughing. The number keeps growing.

But they will not do that because they are democrats and instead they will send him a sternly worded letter that he will ignore.

Coincidentally it was just last month that I finally vibe-migrated my last website off the PHP host where I'd had everything since 2002.

Please, please, there are like 300 actively exploited zero days going on right now, I am not in an emotional place where I can process a Glee reboot.

It does in fact seem like the promised wave of LLM-accelerated vulnerability exploits is upon us.

I know this has been said many times, but people who block the boarding lane before their group is called should die slow painful deaths.

What happened to all those folks who had .eth at the end of their name, how are things for them?

I have been to a ton of conferences this year and every keynote is the same: a desperate search for what humans are supposed to do now that robots can do nearly everything we used to do.

The "but the fundamentals!" people are having a REALLY hard time now that LLM assistance has kicked the legs out of a whole pile of shit we thought was pretty fundamental.

White nationalists are all about European culture until Europeans do things like protest against runaway capitalism, which they do every summer.

Carry yourself with the boldness and confidence of this flower shop's marketing email trying to convince me that Halloween bouquets are a thing.

I need a blanket, OS-level preference setting that tells websites and apps that I am never, ever going to want them to suggest what I should reply to a message. This is not a thing anyone wants.

Anthropic does not hire junior people and doesn't know how to train new hires into senior people and this problem is already being replicated across the tech industry.

I'm going to keep ringing this alarm bell because we are leaving a whole cohort of new grads behind and it threatens to expand to a whole generation. We need to figure out how to train people to work in an AI first company and we have not figured out how to do that yet.

The biggest takeaway I get from the Anthropic version control thing is that megarepos are still crap.

It is really depressing having conversations with people in denial about the impact AI is having on their jobs. Like I realize it sucks and it's scary but pretending it's not happening is not going to work for very long.
