no, really?! (good job tho, wired) ftr leadership personalities in this administration I am sure don't believe in such paperwork and would think it slows down getting shit done, I'm sure they don't give a shit

NEW: The DOGE operative who gutted USAID -- firing thousands of employees and canceling lifesaving programs -- never actually signed the paperwork that's legally required for him to be employed by the agency.

This is also the actual answer to "why don't kids play outside anymore?"

Katie Mack@astrokatie.com

A reminder, because it is almost that time of year: More children are killed by cars on Halloween than any other day of the year, by far. www.vox.com/future-perfe... If you're a parent, I hope you'll do what you can to keep kids safe. If you're driving on Saturday, PLEASE exercise extra caution.

this is only cool if you burn it to physical media and give all schools a copy, hello I am old

«Algorithm» is named after the 9th-century Persian mathematician Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi who «helped introduce algorithmic methods for solving mathematical problems, popularized the use of Hindu-Arabic numerals (including the concept of zero) in the West, and laid the groundwork for algebra».

"We are launching Fortress America, a national insurance policy for the American homeland,” Hegseth said at that time. “Every major military installation in America is going to generate its own power, independent of the civilian grid" of course it's by using portable nuclear reactors

Even after living here for ~15 years seeing reporting cover gerrymandering as a totally normal thing and not batshit politics and evidence of a broken constitution drives me nuts

"yes well we think the republicans maybe won't pick up the seats they intended from their gerrymandering" like you realize just printing that as normal is nuts right, like it's severely fucked up that you can do that in a country

"this time we think the cheating won't work or won't work as well" I mean seriously what the fuck

here here let's just type here a lot and clearly not proofread here here here oh wait I didn't have my afternoon meds did I

Holy hell did it burn a shit ton of tokens You'd think thered be a classifier upfront that's like "this is a one line script with one short print statement are you kidding me" I mean that's the scandalous part if you're looking for one jev is this worth running a code review on

"amplify your people" is 100% the best strategy

Rafa Sales Ross@rafiews.com

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

turns out if you tell claude that if it is finding it hard to concentrate it should take some fast-acting adderall it actually improves its output?!

otoh you can tell claude to periodically ask you if you're finding it hard to concentrate and if you say yes, it can say you should take your fast-acting adderall and then that probably helps!

why is it that so often the people driving slowly and appearing to be careful are also the ones who don't seem to believe in using turn signals ever

I mean you could say the budget for You Can See Everything also included something like $700m of pre-production/marketing
