Even after living here for ~15 years seeing reporting cover gerrymandering as a totally normal thing and not batshit politics and evidence of a broken constitution drives me nuts

"yes well we think the republicans maybe won't pick up the seats they intended from their gerrymandering" like you realize just printing that as normal is nuts right, like it's severely fucked up that you can do that in a country

"this time we think the cheating won't work or won't work as well" I mean seriously what the fuck

i hate it and also it's so bad even npr is constantly treating catastrophic illegal acts as just politics

he can’t “cancel” funding he can only “illegally halt” funding which is what you should say by using normal words that do not even hint of how far beyond the pale this is, you are doing the work of the fascists like saying a man “dated” a woman he held hostage

you know I think all this dressing up of stuff and "not telling it like it is" is part of the whole class thing in this country which also feeds into criticism of liberal elite/ivory tower/"I voted for him because he tells the truth", like come on everyone

what i'm saying is, it's not a class thing. class things would be entrenched and older. if anything the press used to be on the attack a lot of the time
