morning, i have eaten breakfast and made a plan for the afternoon, how are youse doing? i'm going to try and cut out a jumpsuit (already made one so hopefully it will be easier this time!) and do some chores. what's on for you today? nine hundredth post apparently, wooo, let's go

was like 'can I be bothered to lengthen the leg paper pattern pieces 😭' and my laziness protected me from adding 5 inches to the rise (the crotch area afaik) rather than the end of the leg in error lol I can add the length whenever I want without changing the pieces, yey

evening friends. finished the fd signifier video i watched way too much of last night. debating making an instagram post in canva (undecided on topic), carrying on with a blog post/video essay (they are all taking forever) or another bit of more experimental writing. how do people priorit…

Blue button jellies float on the waters surface. They’re related to true jellies, but they’ve got a dry top that feels a bit like a fingernail, and is filled with air-trapping chambers to keep the jelly above the waves This float also means they slide on the water like hockey pucks 🏒

i should be allowed to read research papers instead of doing my job [remembers that 'researcher' is a type of job] they should make researchers that are paid more than three dollars per year

are there any books on online rhetorics/argument making? not for the me and similar of ye olde independent blogge, but like examining social media and news platforms and stuff? i've skimmed "breaking the social media prism", would especially like ones on stuff outside the US?

someone said this in the reposts already, but i wonder where the rhetorical equaivalent of no-platforming comes in? have we not passed the point where breaking down the opponents argument just takes up too much air and time, & you just need to say your own argument quickly, well, and hope it lands?

we gotta bring this shit back

i do wonder if online, in peer or "no reason to assume they aren't a peer" discussions, it would help to break down their arguments, but we only have so many characters.

We gotta start referring to data centers by both their mother and father's last names, Spain style. The Microsoft-Chevron data center, the Meta-ExxonMobil data center, and so forth. Absolutely no reason just the tech bros should be taking the heat on this shit

Everyone’s talking about AI, but no one’s actually asking workers how it’s affecting us. So we’ve done it ourselves. Today we are launching the AI Workers’ Inquiry, a new study led by workers themselves, into the way AI is changing work. Read it at go.utaw.tech/ai

feeling a bit lost tonight. would be easier if i could learn to want what i have and strive from a place of contentment, ig? in the meantime the self-hatred is strong and tiring.
