found dario’s bluesky account

If you are still on the “cheap Chinese models will take share from US labs” cope train you need to get off. US labs are now distilling their own models to compete across the Pareto frontier, so Haiku is better model than Kimi at 1/8th the cost. The only reason to use it is if you MUST self-host.

whatever is going on with Nathan Fielder and Elizabeth Holmes I think is a heretofore undiscovered Homestuck troll romance quadrant

always dress for the job you want! that's why I have pink hair and a Strangeloop crop top - the job I'm dressing for is "most insane trans woman in your infra engineering department"

I'm playing the new fire emblem and yeah alright fine I admit, Theodora can fuck me up any day of the week

I did not spend a decade being clowned on for implementing a new syntax analyzer at every job I’ve ever had to be asked on bsky dot app if I’ve thought about static analysis

the handmade "WE DO NOT ACCEPT EBT" sign haphazardly posted in the window of the Denny's immediately adjacent to four different motels really tells a story

starting to get really annoyed at the trend of bands teasing ten second clips of their new songs on tiktok for weeks before they actually release them

it's always the same ten seconds of the song too like fine I get it you wrote one particularly good verse but quit fucking edging me with it

before Claude, everyone in my spaces kept saying they were "submissive and breedable" but now they all say "green and ready to ship" instead

if you have an answer other than "I don't know because what the fuck even is consciousness" then about 3000 years of philosophers may wish to speak with you

hailey@hailey.at

not a huge fan of declarations of "LLMs are conscious" because that is basically the same as the "LLMs are not conscious" argument right now. i like having spicy takes and all but that one feels counter productive

on the other hand, if you go the animism route and say "llms are conscious because practically everything is conscious" then I will admire and respect your self-consistency in your worldview

y'all I'm fucking destroyed my partner described my RacketCon 2026 tshirt as "giving McDonald's" and said "you look like a ketchup packet" and fuck, she's so right

"it looks like the designer was going for an impression of pacman having a mental breakdown" 😭😭😭

Evidence that if the social app market were opened to competition, we'd simply obliterate these fuckers number #9783.

all those people who called me "irresponsible" for advocating air strikes against specific data centers better be eating crow.

Gabriele Svelto@gabrielesvelto.mas.to.ap.brid.gy

I double-checked this on a couple of Xitter stat sites and it's true. Average views of the main AfD account dropped 90% and average engagement dropped by 60%. This is commercial social media for you: bots, damn bots and Russian bots.

AI is only dangerous if people are incentivized to move as quickly as possible without regard for externalities

why and how does the jev website look simultaneously like typical startupslop graphic design and also mspaint garbage impressive blend, there, I really don't know how they pulled it off

I've been fairly neutral-to-positive on datacenters in general so I really just want to make it clear that this is in fact an atrocity.

Kasey Gifford@kaseygifford.bsky.social

To put this in perspective chestnut trees used to be dominant species in the United States. Billions of trees were killed by fungal blight and now fully grown America chestnuts are functionally extinct. There is no getting them back. Ever. All for a data center. www.gadgetreview.com/one-of-ameri...

something I really do love about engineer culture is the way we can laugh and smile while talking about how something we're making is completely failing to work correctly

engineer A, with a furrowed brow looking at a screen: that doesn't seem correct engineer B, proudly displaying said screen while wearing a Joker-esque smile on their face: I agree

high-clout poster: LLMs are ontologically evil, and any use of them, even for something they're able to solve effectively, is immoral bluesky team: we shipped a feature that uses LLMs to ask reply guys "are you sure?" before they make the same joke five other people made poster: now hold on,

motherfucker you just hacked the australian government through your organization's incompetence, you do NOT get to tell us how to accept bad things when it is VERY clear that you and OpenAI could have stopped an awful lot of them!

I gotta say, of all the changes in the new mario kart game, the one that most continues to baffle me is how harmonica-heavy the soundtrack is

I’m starting a blog! My first post is on how 3rd party embedded evaluators seem totally unsuited to addressing the problems we are currently facing, and what the real problem is. stellabiderman.ai/blog/embedde...
