Remember that an LLM is basing the solutions on the most common patterns within the data it was trained on. Expert humans within a field often have the better answers.

If I ask a question within a forum for humans and you respond with "<chatbot> said this: ..." I will get offended. I could have asked an llm directly (or maybe I already did) but instead I choose to ask professional humans about it. It's just the same a responding "google it". Please stop

People won't push back because their friends are there. In some cases a large important part of their life is there. This is why capitalism in the current form isn't working for social media. We live on a bunch of autocracy islands and we are too afraid to leave.

This is essentially the entire AI bubble: "If it were opt-in, nobody would opt-in." The tech industry is deeply unhealthy when this is accepted as normal, and clearly these people feel no shame about it. Let's push back and show them the cost of being this anti-consumer.

When I say that modularity & composability are now crucial as large, coupled codebases consume more context, I see raised eyebrows. Meanwhile, they are constantly running out of tokens while I haven't hit a usage limit in months. If you think architecture no longer matters, joke’s on you.

I do think I’m in the “@“ / @tmosphere camp. I know it suggests email a bit but the technology is atproto for a reason

Cache Components surface errors as you build when something dynamic would block your shell, nudging you toward a more performant app. The shell loads instantly while dynamic parts stream, and on this demo every route lands in the green. We're working hard to make them easier to adopt!

My React Summit talk is up: What RSCs Can Do in Next.js Today. To show it, I built a music player, open source and deployed on an early preview of Next.js 16.3. 🎵 next-beats.dev Watch the talk for the full walkthrough, and check the key patterns in code below ↓ gitnation.com/contents/wha...

my humble opinion is that if people took the time to understand react server components, they would see that 90% of websites would net benefit from their architecture. you only have to learn how they work once. most of the cost is cognitive, not architectural.

Really fantastic writeup by @moh-kohn.eurosky.social about the power of HTML-first sites (and @astro.build!) My humble opinion is that 90% of websites don't need Next.js, React, or other hefty client-side frameworks—they just need static pages and the occasional form

I think with more resources in react Sebastian and Andrew could have kept their laser focus on the end game while extra resources could have focused on finishing up the individual pieces in between with hooks and docs and whatnot.

Daishi Kato@daishikato.com

I don't remember if I talked this thing in a conference or a tweet, but my original motivation was data fetching with suspense. RSC was told as an official solution for data fetching, and because there's no way to develop a "library" for it, I ended up developing a "framework".

But I also understand that this has been in a constant spike/R&D phase for so many years so finishing up those things in between would have been very hard. But I'm just guessing from the sidelines. Would love to here the thoughts of @danabra.mov or @ricky.fm around this one day. A retrospective? :)

It feels a little bit like: "Here, hehe, use this... it's fun, right? Here, have some more.. Oh, you want more? Here... hehe.. yeeeeessss. Now we can drain you powers much more effectively! GIVE THEM TO US! MOOORE!!! MOAHAHA!!!!!"

The TSRX team has been hard at work listening to feedback, criticism, and ideas. TSRX is now nearly fully backward-compatible with JSX. Instead of being statement-based, it’s expression-based, just like JSX. tsrx.dev/blog/rethink...

I'm sorry but fuck off with this. There's only one way to distribute apps on iOS and if you don't get enough attention then you can't use it? If you think my toy app is a waste of your resources then I'll happily take another way to distribute my app.

🚨🚨🚨 React Compiler Rust Port is merged!!! Thank you to Mofei, Mike, @ricky.fm, @en-js.bsky.social, and @no.lol for their work on the port! github.com/react/react/...

(In Sweden, among others). Since Americans always scare the living hell out of me the second Sunday of may every year I think next year I will post "Happy mothers day!" everyday that any country celebrates mothers day

This observation from @cmuratori.bsky.social is spot on. The mentality of current leaders is central to the degradation of our society and social culture. This speech by Eric Schmidth is a perfect example.

[1/2] I don't normally make commentary videos, but after seeing the entirety of Eric Schmidt's University of Arizona commencement speech, I felt like there was a lot more going on than just "CEO mentions AI, gets booed". So I made a video to explain what upset me about it.

I feel like we're on this stage where we can't talk to friends about AI if we don't have the same opinions. It very much feels like talking about religion.
