Pebble devs - we're working on something big for you 👀The biggest change to the SDK since...forever. Plugins: headless apps that provide data (eg weather, finance, traffic) or offer actions (home control, music, webhooks) to other apps, watchfaces and the Index agent.

Nano Stores finally has a website! We've seen huge growth thanks to LLMs. Not having a site was embarrassing. nanostores.net Check out the design: fresh and personal. Too many modern sites look the same. No React. Just Astro.

I’m sorry, but if you bring an iced coffee - or any damn beverage at all - to a job interview, you’re disqualified. It’s not hard, people.

Allegedly, LLMs have enabled hobbyists to build and improve tons of "media management" tools in the last year that can populate these self-hosted servers. You should not look up these tools, and certainly not set them up with friends.

This grant is a fantastic way to get started as a puzzle game developer. I’m super happy Evil Trout was able to sponsor for the second year in a row.

Draknek & Friends@draknek.bsky.social

We're excited to announce that applications are open for the Draknek New Voices Puzzle Grant 2026 🎉 The grant will award $15,000 to five thinky puzzle game developers from all over the world, and a year's mentorship with genre veterans. Deadline: September 27th More info 👇

Let it be known that I really enjoy being able to browse to the.incident.at.galley.house, as a treat. It also shouldn't be the main URL!

Robin Ward@eviltrout.com

galley.house might be the best domain I've ever bought. It's just so short and easy to remember. It also works as the.incident.at.galley.house but the rest of the team told me that was a bad URL. (our awesome website was designed by @louis-andre.net)

The game is out NOW! Go play it, and please consider giving us a steam review if you like it. It's the best way for the game to get visibility.

I already know the story and gameplay will be amazing since it’s Type Help. So all that’s left to see is whether the UX will be amazing… and it’s Evil Trout. So my hopes are high for this one!

Our next game, The Incident at Galley House, is coming out July 14, 2026! You can wishlist now on Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/3641000/...

There are two ways to resolve the cognitive dissonance of being on Twitter while also caring about all the awful shit happening because of Twitter 1. Leave Twitter 2. Stop caring Profoundly disappointing how many people I like seem to have chosen the latter

I get a lot of “but it’s business people making programmers do this” replies, implying that software engineers are innocent. That’s the software engineers who stole the term “engineer” from another profession that has very strict certification requirements & mandatory ethics classes.

Hi, just because a software tells you it’s “reasoning” or “thinking” doesn’t mean it actually is. You won’t believe this but programmers can make software lie about what it does. Maybe programmers need more guardrails.

I'm no interface design pro*, but if you have a rotation button and a horizontal scale, shouldn't the first rotation you (from the default) do match the orientation of that scale? *actually am

I'm working on a column about the tech annoyances that drive us crazy, and I want it to be as universal as possible, so tell me yours! E.g. scanning a QR code to read a menu, never receiving the one-time passcode they supposedly texted you, "verify you're human" by IDing tiny motorcycles, etc.

Horror-watching someone at the library as they follow ChatGPT's instructions and apparently add their entire person drive as a git repo, committed to Github, where they gave random scammy apps full access to their account.

We made a fake repo with fake bounties, and the bots are applying fake PRs, so we know who is fake, and we can ban them from the Coolify repo. IQ over 1000

One of the issues with mass LLM marketing is the rising layman mental model of "all computer code is prompt" Like, here are my two lines of incantation, enter them into the results machine.

The client is now sending their own CSS. Clauded Style Sheets.

An icon I made 8+ years ago. I did *lots* of custom icons for that client, but this one is my favorite. If you've searched for medication names in Canada, you've probably seen it. I hope that dizzy pal keeps on surviving more redesigns for a long time.

Continuing my effort as an to be an informed hater, I gave in to pressure at work to start using AI coding tools to see what it is actually like. Already paid for by my company so my ethical concerns are moot anyway. After a month, my verdict: I feel like I'm on cocaine (derogatory) 🧵

One thing that AI evangelists seem to assume, particularly legal AI evangelists assume, is that the thinking and analysis is quick, and the writing is just tedious busywork that slows us down. But the writing IS the thinking and analysis. You work out the thinking and analysis by writing it down.

For anyone who has the 2026 2nd gen Apple Studio Display (not XDR), does it work with macOS Sequoia (15.7.4)? Please only reply if you can directly confirm that it works (or doesn’t). (The specs say it requires macOS 26 but who knows if that’s true.)
