As I lay here in bed with another migraine I’m once again telling myself I need to say no to last minute meeting requests over my lunch break. Didn’t eat today until 5PM

There are things I really would like to say in response to this latest Matty Y abomination, but if I said them, I'd wind up on a federal watchlist.

A helpfully clear exchange here Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028." Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"

boy howdy do I ever have stories of why I don't trust therapists anymore and that was before the age of YouTube Content

Bungus @ Onimusha@bungus2fungus.bsky.social

Imagine you pour your heart out to your therapist and you find out he wojaked you

(before you respond, this was a former friend who works as a therapist who got mad at me one night and called in a fake suicide threat to our local, pretty racist, sheriff's office. I got reasons to be mad)

"Sure, EA sucks but have you considered these 400 faceless devs I've never met made a game that I disliked because woke? If you ask me, they had it coming."

Fellow WA voters, let's bury this. I can't imagine any parent wants to subject their child to this vile "examination."

Doctors and nurses are voicing their objections. I-638 would require EVERY girl who wants to participate in sports to go through biological sex verification. That means expensive, invasive, and utterly gross examinations. Protect our kids and let them play. Vote NO on I-638

*sigh* Bioware games were the first games I played that let me explore even the thought of being queer. A stepping stone on a long journey to being able to come out years later. I am utterly heartbroken right now.

it cannot actually be ignored or danced around that the closure of BioWare came so soon after the Saudi and Jared Kushner acquisition of EA. they absolutely did take the studio making EA’s broadly queerest games out back and shoot it old yeller style. do not let yourself or colleagues ignore that

I mean, it's not an $1,800 Xbox that's going to kill the games industry. It's the consolidation that's causing the whole thing to collapse in on itself like a neutron star.

This felt utterly inevitable but still really hurts

Our poor pup Poe hasn't been able to go for walks for almost two weeks because of a sprained shoulder. What's worse, kids at the bus stop have been apparently -real- sad Poe hasn't been around when my wife picks our son up.

did your brain melt this summer as Fox News ran 8+ hours of Sophie Cunningham/TERF coverage? to you I present the many trans fans, affirming parents of trans kids, and WNBA players who are pro-Black, pro-trans, pro-woman. “The majority of the fanbase is standing up saying: ‘No, this isn’t right.’”

theguardian.comThe right is pushing its anti-trans fury on the WNBA. Players and fans are loudly pushing backAs the WNBA finals kick off Saturday in San Francisco, the pro-LGBTQ+ sports fanbase push a message of inclusion in the face of anti-trans attacks

If y'all Star Wars fans are enjoying some retro-ish throwbacks in Zero Company (X-Com) and Galactic Racer (literally every great arcade racing title from the 90s-mid aughts), you've got to check out Star Wars Squadrons if you missed it. The perfect salute to 90s era PC space combat flight sims.

Tangentially related, it warms my heart so much to see that the X-Wing Alliance Upgrade Project that started in 1999 is still active and producing all sorts of amazing model updates and total conversions 27 years later.

I see we're having a debate about whether it's okay to go back to "X," the site owned by a trillionaire fascist who is currently bankrolling the GOP's midterm, throttled Ukraine's war effort, and still winkingly allows vast amounts of CSAM on his service Answer: No, what the fuck is wrong with you

Kiddo loves Minecraft, let him watch some family friendly tutorial videos on YouTube. Honestly was pretty good at first, kiddo got ideas on things to make in his Minecraft realm. Aaaaand then the YouTube algo does what the YouTube algo does and funnels wildly inappropriate Minecraft content at him

So, no more Minecraft content on YouTube (and YouTube period) because no one lets you turn off recommended videos outside of channels spouse and I have approved of.

This latest rant brought to you by Milo and Chip, an extremely popular show on YouTube and Prime video aimed towards kids that features episode titles such as "Date, Marry, Kill" and "More Blood Means More Fun"

I mean, I’ll say it. He’s quiet because he’s totally okay with Trump getting what he wants here and would personally welcome the result.

This guy needs to go. Immediately upon winning back the senate, we need to pressure the hell out of all D senators and senator-elects to pick a DIFFERENT leader.

Oh my god I want to grab Healy by the lapels and just scream at him. So much McKinsey focused, wishy-washy, corpo tested, mealy-mouthed, consultant-pilled, spineless, smug, elitist, out of touch, lying, brainless, heartless, sack of monkey shit, insulting BULLSHIT. Holy SHIT. Where's the Tylenol!?

Mark Jacob@markjacob.bsky.social

🧵🧵🧵 The NY Times posted a 15-minute video today in which I got to tell NYT what’s wrong with its coverage. They said they saw my critical posts on Bluesky and invited me to do a video with them to air my grievances. Weird, right? I didn’t hold back. I blasted their sanewashing of MAGA extremism.

"I should probably bring my passport with me when I go vote in a couple weeks" is a pretty depressing thought I just had.

The increase of non consultant-pilled candidates this cycle has been real refreshing.

This was such a great answer from Abdul El-Sayed about his previous criticisms of President Obama.

It’s not Covid (tested again), not the flu, but whatever this crud is has made me the sickest I’ve felt in a long time. You know it’s bad if I’m struggling to stay warm.

Brian Larsen@lanewinree.com

(tested negative for COVID, it might be the flu? I think it's more likely a real, real, real bad cold)

Once again I regret to report that deep cleaning, reorganizing, and planning some upgrades for my office space has been a net positive on my mental health. I'm as upset as you are.

Thank you Ina Garten for the cast iron skillet lemon chicken recipe we used for dinner last night, a winner every damn time.
