NEW: The Supreme Court just delivered the most consequential campaign-finance decision since Citizens United.
And it is going to deliver a crucial financial edge to Republicans in the 2026 midterms.
The backstory, the decision, the fallout —>

Trump's affordability message: "You could even come to Mar-a-Lago. You'll be my guest. The problem is that for $5,000 the most you'll be able to buy is a hamburger and maybe a small dessert. I'm not even sure you could buy that! No, don't go there. It's not a good place if you're price conscious."
The opposition can form a govt w the Arab bloc or the Bibi bloc
They can choose coexistence and a path back to global good graces or a different version of the same
We’ll see…
Potentially a big result for Arab parties (Ra'am and the Joint List) in Israel's election. An average of the exit polls gives them 17 seats, four more than our poll tracker and two more than their highest-ever seat tally in 2020
It’s vastly underated that one of the main reasons the far right hate Zelenskyy so much is he stayed & fought for what he believes in while they go from posting like this to fleeing the country within 48 hours
Israeli turnout now at 74.3% as of 8pm — up 8% on 2022 and the second highest ever recorded in Israeli history.
There are still two hours left of voting from this time.
Major press failure: treating Jared Kushner taking foreign bribes and shaping US foreign policy as less relevant than Hunter Biden not taking bribes nor influencing policy.
Covering Kushner accurately was considered partisan, biased. Lies about Hunter or his minor actions treated as more important.
Evidence "shows that Trump lied about kicking Epstein out of his Mar-a-Lago club," according to a new report from the House Judiciary Dem staff.
The report also reveals for the first time Beatrice Keul's account of allegedly having been raped by Trump.

Q: Why shouldn't Alaskans find it insulting that the administration is suggesting they can't read the word 'incumbent' on their ballot and know to vote for Sen. Sullivan?
JD VANCE: People are busy. People have lives. People have jobs.
JUST POSTED: The U.S. Called It Putin’s ‘Slush Fund.’
Now Trump May Drop Sanctions on It.
The move would be the latest concession to Moscow by President Trump.

It is short and so I assume they are looking into things but it is... interesting... that the NYT piece on the new House Dems report on Trump ties to Epstein simply does not mention the brand new rape allegation and says whatever this is instead

You can do the same thing, buying a house and borrowing against it—ha ha, just kidding, normal people get taxed annually on their wealth via property taxes, the "you can't tax wealth, the economy will collapse!" rule applies solely to the super-rich.
For the fabulously wealthy, paying taxes is pretty much optional. They can borrow against their vast wealth, which is mostly an untaxed capital gain, without paying taxes. When they die, the capital gain goes to zero. And loopholes exist to bypass the estate tax too.
It's hard to believe but Democrats ran for decades against the "Bush tax cuts" and then made most of them permanent. Then ran against the "Trump tax cuts" and then didn't repeal them either.
I emailed Patrick Healy, assistant managing editor for standards and trust at NYT, to ask why their story about a House report with new details of rape allegations against the President of the United States included neither those details, nor a single use of the word "rape."

Detroiter Nicole Williams when asked if Abdul El-Sayed is ‘a bit too left wing to win in Michigan’: “At this point what do we have to worry about? Anything but what we have.
We're on our way to hell, so at this point: socialist, socialize, social, dont matter to me, lower my cost of living!”
Also — this kind of journalism takes time and care. @osviz-jarrett.bsky.social and @asteckelberg.bsky.social spent weeks studying sun data and building an interactive model of Trump's arch, drawing on findings @votevets.org.
You can help support this work by reading and sharing it. Thanks so much.
President Trump wants to build a 250-foot-tall arch.
If completed, it will cast shadows on many graves and monuments in nearby Arlington National Cemetery, the @washingtonpost.com's 3-D analysis found.
On some days, Trump's arch would even shade the grave and eternal flame of JFK.
voter turnout in israel at highest by midday since 1977
normally a good thing. for netanyahu, high arab turnout is an ‘emergency’
(…and an excuse to claim election was stolen, of course)
Netflix blazed a path in the streaming era that many of its media rivals have tried to follow. As it has tried to navigate Madison Avenue, however, the company has found bumps in the road.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."
Beyond disgusted by even more rape allegations against the President of the United States.
"In total, more than 25 different women...have independently accused Donald Trump of rape, sexual assault, or other sexual misconduct."

Instagram adding long-form video *should* scare YouTube more than Netflix tbh
The product isn’t there yet (need background viewing, PIP while scrolling, continue watching, dedicated watch history, much more) but clips as direct promos for full video is smart and would (will?) be huge for podcasts
South Carolina's former governors Jim Hodges, a Democrat, and David Beasley, a Republican, shoot a joint 60-second ad endorsing Annie Andrews for Senate. You can watch it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARZ5...
Equis found that the share of Latinos reporting their social circles were mostly supporting Trump went from 19 percent in 2016 to 30 percent in 2020 to 42 percent in 2024. Now? Just 22 percent of Latinos' social circles say they are supporting the GOP.

“He pays attention,” says Hussien Salama, the lead video producer for the Jon Ossoff campaign in 2021.
“There are some candidates who I work with who don’t watch their things or aren’t aware of what their social does. Jon cares about how he’s being presented to the world.”
Last-minute CA ballot advice for procrastinators like me: "no" on Prop 45. More targeted CEQA reform for renewables and housing could be good, but the Chamber of Commerce's shotgun approach will promote sprawl and freeway expansion. Not the way. www.climatecoloredgoggles.com/p/prop-45-vote
Over 2,000 alumni from Vivek’s all-boys catholic high school in Cincinnati have signed and circulated a petition demanding that he pull the ad and issue a public apology for “ignoring the moral responsibilities” of his Jesuit education. I think he’s pretty cooked.
