Some added layers to this: - this is not a misquote or misspeaking he very deliberately meant to call his defensemen "too horny" - the overly horny defenseman in question is named Bonk

RIVER CARTWRIGHT Listen to me, please, listen! There is a bomb in the stadium. I don't know where, I don't know how big it is, but I -do- know you're the only person who can help me find it. ROY KENT Fuuuuuuuuuuuck.

TED LASSO and SLOW HORSES are both on Apple TV, and unless my entire childhood lied to me, that can only mean one thing. We're due for a very special crossover episode. Can't wait.

Belarus cannot supply large volumes to the USA, since its output is already contracted for this year. “Even if we wanted to supply [potash] to other, Western markets, we simply do not have those volumes - everything is contracted,” the Belarusian leader stressed. www.belarus.by/en/press-cen...

This is fucked! Toronto mayoral candidate Brad Bradford is using an Israeli AI app to create an army of snitches and reply-guys. The app finds valid criticism of the candidate on social media, gives you an AI-written reply to post, then gives you rewards

Canada's National Observer@nationalobserver.com

The app has been used extensively in Israel, and in Georgia by the federal ruling party, Georgian Dream – whose government announced plans last week to ban all major opposition parties. Bradford's is the first known use in Canada.

What I’m taking away from this is that the Bradford campaign will literally say it’s sunny if Chow says it’s raining.

Meanwhile, over at the Bradford campaign…

Imagine a serial killer killing someone every 72 minutes, and the reaction of the government was to say to people to "stay alert, assume everyone is the killer, wear protective clothing, and don't get yourself killed" instead of doing something to stop the serial killer. That's this. This is that.

Allegheny County Government@alleghenycounty.bsky.social

Sadly, a pedestrian is killed by a vehicle every 72 minutes in this country. So, it’s very important to stay alert while walking, use crosswalks, and don’t assume drivers will stop for you – even at crosswalks. For more safety tips, visit www.pa.gov/agencies/pen....

Having worked at an online service that attracted a young audience, I'm reminded of how frequently the RCMP trained us what to look for *and* how to inform the authorities safely. This is malpractice on the part of OpenAI.

Absolutely wild. WSJ reporting that some OpenAI staffers thought the Tumbler Ridge shooter's use of ChatGPT raised the potential of real world violence but leadership decided not to alert RCMP. www.wsj.com/us-news/law/...

My feelings on AI are a lot like that tweet (or article? I dunno) from almost a decade ago: “I don’t know how to explain to you that you should care about other people.” I don’t know how to explain, to people who don’t already grasp it, that nothing is worth doing if it isn’t done by humans.

Hey, everyone. I have some exciting news. I’ll be providing coverage of the Blue Jays farm system over the course of the season in the Toronto Star. Next to playing CF and hitting leadoff for the Jays, this is a dream come true. First piece will be in late March. Stay tuned….

The Blue Jays need to blow it up inasmuch as they can “blow it up.”

Honestly I still can't even get over this. AI slop entirely made up baseball rules, including "how many times the ball bounces" insanity, ignoring the correct answers on the same page.
