I installed the new macOS a bit earlier than usual this year and now I am in the kind of ironic position that two apps don't work nicely with each other 1. iStat menus, an app I use to put useful-to-me things in the menubar 2. Thaw, an app I use to hide rarely useful-to-me things in the menubar

TIL you can tell your Pi-Hole to pass through your Tailscale DNS which has unfucked my personal networking clusterfuckery by a large amount (mixing a Pi-Hole in my home network, a FritzBox-based Wireguard VPN and tailscale, which also connects a VPS or two).

e.g., a common workflow for me: rv init rv add ggplot2 dplyr [R code stuff happens] rv add tidyr forcats [more code happens] rv add ggbeeswarm and so on and so forth. Quickly plopping dependencies as I need them in the terminal while my R session remains unbothered has been pretty neat.
