Whether it's Donald Trump maintaining a personal police force that kills and imprisons without cause or it's Barack Obama making a joke about the Cheesecake Factory, both presidents have trashed the very principles that make this country what it is.

don't worry the NYT had 320 entire words on it

I know there's a lot going on but I feel it should probably be more of an above-the-fold story that members of Congress released a thoroughly documented report directly accusing the president of the United States of being a serial rapist.

i am inviting anyone from a legacy media organization to explain to me why the house judiciary dems report on trump’s epstein’s ties and multiple allegations of rape isn’t worthy of extensively reporting on. i’m serious. i want to understand.

Isn't it strange how legacy media is framing this as a legitimate "debate" when any sort of rigorous interrogation tears it down like a badly-built sand castle? theconversation.com/are-transgen...

theconversation.comAre transgender sports bans really about protecting women? Survey data tells a different storyIn a recent national survey, Americans with the most negative views of women were the biggest proponents of transgender sports bans.

Conservative "activism" in a nutshell. Push a bigoted extremist agenda in a spurious performance of justice and charity that cannot withstand the tiniest grain of scrutiny.

To be clear, the article I'm linking to is the "interrogation", not the "legacy media". You don't have to go far to find the latter

Jingles for board games were of course a function of tv advertising aimed at kids, but the thing people sometimes don't realize is the degree to which game design itself - and the trend of 3D plastic toy games - was dictated by the needs of TV advertising & shelf space.

And by "first track" I mean first track after the long intro, what some may refer to as the "second track"

A RED STAR SHINES OVER BRAZIL! Lula is reelected! Brazilians managed to mobilize and beat Bolsonaro, Trump, Meta, Google, Netanyahu, media oligarchs, corrupt judges, fascism, imperialism, apathy and hatred! May this victory bring hope to all our comrades fighting across the world! We can beat them

Lula winning is great for the planet, great for Brazil, and great for people who aren't revanchist assholes everywhere in the world, but let's not forget that it's also going to make some of the worst people on Earth extremely sad and mad. We should enjoy that, as a little treat.

Incredible vignette while walking Miga: bent-over old guy in newsboy cap unlocks his giant $70k Genesis SUV while smoking a cigar. His cell phone rings. The custom ringtone? The Godfather theme. He squints at the phone, puts it to his ear, and shouts “WHAT PART OF ‘FUCK EM’ DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND”

I hate that this is my main blocker to donations. But there's just too much spam. Even worse: someone named "Sylvia" entered my number instead of hers, so I'm now getting spam texts for her too.

I can't help but think that for a good percentage of the Dem party, the goal is to raise as much money as possible. Not to get elected, unless that opens the door to the possibility of raising even more money.

I was going to donate to Amy Acton today but decided not to because after giving to Al-Sayed I get 3-5 texts daily asking me to give him more money. I block but they still come in from different numbers. It is as if the GOP came up with the idea to punish small Dem donors with spam. 😔

Herman Melville in the movie theater watching STAR TREK IV, arms crossed, verbally scoffing at the visual depiction of the whales, then leaving in a huff when the ship decloaks and prevents the whalers from killing the whales near the end.

Also, be sure you correctly sort out which is which. TERFs love to say stuff like “we are the daughters of the witches you couldn’t burn” and never stop to notice they’re the ones calling for a whole category of women to be burned for gender witchcraft.

Don’t be afraid of witches. Be afraid of the ones who burned them.

This is also why the media is trying to frame it as bad for El-Sayed in headlines, and that CBS lady is tweeting about microexpressions revealing the truth or whatever. They had this story ready to go and when Tommy fucked it, they just went ahead and did the story they had prepared anyway

I've made a few improvements behind the scenes in the past couple of weeks. Each show now has a title made up of a bunch of song titles mashed together, and the genres each show is tagged with match that particular show.

Great example of not accepting bad-faith framing and taking out dishonesty at the knees. By the end of the exchange, it's clear Tommy doesn't give a shit about the Constitution. He tried to use it as a bludgeon, but El-Sayed pulled it out of his hands and used it against him.

This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

Tommy's going to go back to his friends and family with a sob story about how the Muslim was mean to him, and everyone in the room hated him. Then he'll think up another intellectually-dishonest way to "own the libs". (There are far worse things he could do, too.)

We have to make it socially embarrassing to be a Tommy in public life. Appealing to their intelligence or humanity gets us nowhere. We have to make these people pay in pride and perceived self-worth. We have to keep humiliating the Tommys.

Remember, Tommy thinks that because he's white and El-Sayed isn't, he is above the Constitution and El-Sayed is below it. Tommy thinks he can thrust the Constitution on El-Sayed without the same applying to him.

Tommy will never accept laws that apply to everyone equally. What's the point of a law that you're not above, and can't use to punish someone "inferior" to you?

The best part is, El-Sayed never tried to "save" Tommy or convince him. He knows it's impossible; Tommy believes that he is right a priori. El-Sayed is speaking to the room and the viewers of this video. He won't convince Tommy, but there's plenty more people who this will appeal to.
