I'm trying to solve a hard to Google small mystery. In the opening logos for Cryo's dreadful Frank Herbert's Dune, developed by Widescreen Games in 2001, it shows the logo for Renderware, but above it something called Rainbow. What the hell is Rainbow?

Update: the swelling went down and I can now see that I got stung 3 times. My arm is sore and keeps getting weird stingy pain, but I still think I won, because oooh pears.

I picked pears and got stung by a wasp. But now I have half a bushel of pears so I think I came out ahead.

I agree that the tech backlash has a lot to do with the fact that Silicon Valley has pretty much given up on giving us cool things - and has trained us to assume that tech products that *seem* cool are probably secretly evil. I wrote about this last year:
