It's that time of year again when THEY are about to mess with our sense of time, again. I'll go on record that I personally prefer Daylight Time over Standard Time, but I live on the far west side of Eastern and I acknowledge that those on the east side of time zones might disagree.

I'd like us to just pick one and then stop the shenanigans. Hell, let's just go to a single, continent-wide time zone, like China. Then scheduling meetings will be much easier.

As a runner, I am totally here for this diatribe.

Do you have an irrational, unjustifiable hatred? For me it’s running clubs. People getting out together, interacting — this is all good. But a load of them descend on the cafe I go to every Saturday, and I HATE THEM! 😀 The whole place fills up with middle-class people in lycra, wiping the sweat..

in the narrative of this ad, kyle, our white plagiarist, isn't even depicted as worried about his own job performance; he steals labor because seeing someone who's not a white guy being praised "really got to him" if that doesn't sum up where we are with all of this, i don't know what does

KetAnthropic JoshAI@ketanjoshi.co

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

If you have a friend or loved one who worked in IT, please avoid using the number '4' with them for the next 7-10 business days. If you do, it will be like saying '6-7' to a pre-teen but if the pre-teen was a sleeper agent triggered by small numbers.

Brian's dead on. Don't compare yourself to people who are literally paid to look good. Many many changes can happen if that change *is your job*

Chris Hemsworth's job is to look like Chris Hemsworth. Someone pays him to go to the gym. I get paid to find security vulnerabilities, not to find my abs.

Why did I write a Minecraft book? Because last year a shy 11-yr-old boy brought two huge lobsters to my door I asked how much His dad said: No he wants to give them to you. He hated reading before your Minecraft book & now he loves it. He wants to pay you back THAT’S WHY I WROTE A MINECRAFT BOOK

Ross Thompson@wintermute115.bsky.social

And @catvalente.bsky.social, a generational talent IMO, wrote a Minecraft novel.

I have to make a lot of 3"x3" squares of various colors for this costume.

Halloween costume progress. I will not answer questions about what it is to become.

This is only true in the sense that "retribution" equals "not letting them run our country straight into the sewer" and "depriving them of unchecked power." And also possibly "investigating them for the obviously fraudulent and illegal things they have been doing."

I misread this as the Hitler Museum and I was very confused about what Adolf had been up to with the Red Skull

Americans, please don’t worry about your child coming home from school a different sex. Worry about your child not coming home from school because they were shot to death.

The costume is proceeding somewhat slowly. Need to make some good progress this week to avoid crunch time at the end of the month.

Because I saw Jorts on my feed today I thought I would repost this for anyone who doesn't already know, and for anyone who wants a cozy refresher.

Jorts (and Jean)@jortsthecat.bsky.social

It has come to my attention that some of you don’t know the whole story of Jorts, Jean, Pam, getting buttered… and one earnest question asked by a supervisor “Am I the asshole?” (Don’t miss the updates where it gets really funny)

Been having fun recovering from a shoulder injury back in the spring (5 months ago) through PT but it wasn't getting where I wanted so it was MRI time, yesterday. The results notes are full of words like "tear" and "irregularity," not that I was expecting anything different. Alas.

[at a restaurant] Me: Ah, yes. I’d like some Stilton on oatcake biscuits, with some fig jam on the side, and a nice glass of Port. Them: Ma’am, this is a McDonald’s. Me: Oh, silly me! Yes, go ahead and super size it.

I would totally do this for date night if I lived in the DC area.

Jennifer and I have watched a lot of mysteries/police procedurals and we have a pact: after having murdered the other, we promise to never ever confess in the interrogation room.

Two weekends, two walks along the warehouse where the kid has derby practice. Most of these weren't in tire paths, but they'd work their way there over time.

I know nothing about this situation but the "relegated straight to the MLS" is totally a sick burn and I'm here for it.
