Because I come from fedi I have that cohort's innate desire to rewrite the entire computing stack. But unlike people from fedi the reason I would do it is to run agents in a less janky way.

I keep reading his name as flavor bolsonaro which is kind of an affront to flavortown

Had a poll been given two weeks ago for "Do you use PHP?" I think the results would have had a similar shape. It took Black October to reveal just how much PHP was still in use.

The poll so far between Twitter, Bluesky and Mastodon. I think it looks less absurd than last time, but still pretty clear that the base is divided. bsky.app/profile/mits...

I grew up in a lower income immigrant family and we ate at Red Lobster for "special days." But we also understood the White House should not look like the inside of Red Lobster. It's condescending to assuming working ppl are culturally illiterate bc their experience is shaped by their limited means.

the cougs coming out of their slump to tank everyone's strength of schedule would be peak PAC football

like if the beavs have to have their playoff dreams obliterated having it be at the hands of the cougs AFTER we finished playing them might be my preferred method 😂

Wisconsin is one of two states I've lived in whose insularity leads to the kind of evolutionary cultural craziness you find in animals in the Galapagos or language in isolated settlements. This is what hath been wrought in the name of sausage

The fear of AI is that it will create a machine that follows rules so literally, with such brutal utilitarian mentality, that it will do so to an apocalyptic degree. We already have this in society though and it's called German Protestantism.

Lift-off! 🚀 The H3 rocket just launched from the Tanegashima Space Center in Japan. Our German-French rover Idefix®️ is on its way to space on board the MMX mission. 🥳 #GoodLuckMMX

I dunno, I want them to be part of the team. Talking to the public about science and being passionate about space is a real job.

The difference between AMD and Nvidia is that Nvidia can write software but does not care about the linux experience and AMD cares about the linux experience but cannot write software.

And the guy breaking the dishes and punching the walls is a guy who is about to start beating his girlfriend.

It's one of the reasons that violence against animals is an alarming predictor of violence against humans. You are, in fact, training and socialising yourself through that behaviour.

Update: Nick G. from Anthropic has responded on HN, and I believe that the attribution is now sufficient. I stand by my posts as of the time I wrote them.

Update on yesterday's post about Anthropic ripping off Mononoke:

starting to think that 'AI art' and 'art made with AI' will be very relevant distinctions tbh. stuff in the recognizable lazy AI house style will probably always be low status and derided because the creators will be people who don't give a shit. well made art with AI will simply be considered art.

I think the heart of Anthropic's Scion post is that they admitted that the senior engineer role is still necessary to keep Claude from making weird decisions. It's buried in the center of the article, and I would consider the rest of the content to be garnish.

Scion would have been more impactful if they had open sourced it, regardless of code quality

Anyways, it's funny because The Grube comes off as kind of desperate here. It's also weird that it coincides with the Ukrainians blowing up that Yandex datacenter that was hosting all those bots.
