Hello. I have temporarily left/possibly quit my job.
I will be fine for about a month, but this is my chance now to try to be completely autonomous.
I hope to work on projects and do commissions to bring real value. Donations not required.

i am about 40 and george w bush and obama are the only presidents we had that i have not heard predatory allegations against. even before the repeal of dobbs we regularly forced pregnant children to get their rapists to sign permission slips to be allowed abortions
I guess it would make a lot of sense that I have such crippling social anxiety because 95% of my life has been filled with people who, for the most part, don't really get how my brain works.
I still haven't figured out what I really want to do and I have a out a week or two to figure it out.
I could always fall back to comms and Uber Eats, and I think I can go back to my main job, but I'm not sure.
I want to be my authentic self and --
find the things I'm good at that intersect with what people might want. But "my authentic self" is spread thin across like 100 different things.
Idk. I'm confused, scared, joyful, focused, unfocused, depressed, and a billion other emotions at the same time.
I definitely am not coping by internally suppressing the fact that I feel most real and comfortable in VRChat especially with full body tracking π₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ή
I like how Beatrix (or Bunlith) in The Witch Upstairs is very antisocial and non-emotive in the real world. Meanwhile in the game, she's very expressive and loud.
It really highlights how, in the digital world, she's at her most confident state.
it's wild how two of the most popular videos about the queer media are two incredibly transphobic people and their community making suicide and child rape jokes
i just don't get it. i really don't get it. why are people so fucking afraid of trans people? why are they snowflakes?
When trans creators are subtle, people dismiss the trans subtext as βheadcanon.β

They just donβt want us to be represented in media at all. Because they donβt want us to exist at all.
it feels obvious in how it's pulling on anime, retro, etc. tropes and that type of storytelling, which for some reason i've assumed is not a good thing since it's "cheap" or "easy"
but that's also maybe the point? it's just a medium to storytell through. what makes it cool isn't those--
individual pieces, but the combination of those pieces and the way the story carries through it.
i am a sucker for all of it though. but on top of that the execution of it and leaning into the video game/anime humor made it really shine. it's a cozy place where I feel welcomed and appreciated.
the blatancy of it immediately made me cringe, but then I recognized that is a flaw with myself.
what queer people go through is just reality and it's cringe for me to feel cringe about it.
it's internalized transphobia from my childhood and that's not okay.
i totally get now why people are mad about it. it's frankly incredible that it's actually causing SO many people to be mad about it. that means it will only succeed. it's going to be one of the best pieces of media on earth.
FUCK TRANSPHOBES.

This is why we went against hate speech.
When hate speech is normalized and allowed it means the ideas behind the hate speech become legitimized.
There is such a thing as too much policing. But there's also such a thing as too little policing.
**** all racists

Robert F. Kennedy Sr. spent his time in government fighting *against* racist bigots who said these exact same things, except their rants were against βAfricansβ

a cool thing about indie animation is that it's expected to save the entire industry, every show has to look better than the things the fans grew up on or it's a waste of time, there's no union to be found anywhere, no budget for any of it, and asking the audience to pay anything to watch is illegal
I am totally okay if we don't impose on freedom of speech for pretty much everyone.
But I feel like you run a country or are in a major government position, you should probably be legally held to your speech.
Blatant lying should be treason.
People are proud of being American.
People are proud of their sports team.
People are proud of their kids.
People are proud of their guns.
But god forbid you're fucking queer.

They just donβt want us to be represented in media at all. Because they donβt want us to exist at all.
Thinking that Jax is a bad character or that Gooseworx is a bad writer says SO much more about you as a person.
If you believe that, you contribute to a society that puts people down because they made mistakes in their lives.
You are part of oppressing victims.
"but there's a threshold"
Please stop trying to project this idea that there's some universal threshold of acceptance.
This is the exact reason that people like Jax exist.
Not to mention that gooseworx said that Jax is inspired heavily by herself, iirc.

sorry i need to publicly be a hater for a second but what do you mean the giant 230k+ signature save mass effect petition is only about the IP and not the devs that were laid off
I just don't understand why people who say LLMs can't do anything are doing the exact same thing that slop churning vibecoders do, while they also criticize slop churning vibecoders for being bad at programming.
