okay news from post op write up nerve was 90% severed and hanging by a thread, so huge win, no need for allograft very successful repair of ulnar nerve and artery, excited to hear my prognosis

that said im so glad i blew off my second opinion, what an idiot. not only did he manhandle my hand but he recommended waiting months for enrollment to get coverage there is a high chance i would have snapped the fuck out of my nerve in that time

OOOOKAAY welp, a lot of development over the past few hours bad news: other provider opinion was a waste of time and money, basically told me to quit fucking around good news: i got my initial 50% payment waived by the surgeon on an urgent case basis and will be getting surgery TOMORROW

ibe been a hard person to help i think, but seeing this support is helping im checking my options, 7k is exorbitant at the door , i was unemployed a chunk of the year. i have a feeling even if that nurse had the best intentions telling me to go with the office it might not be the best

im getting my hand looked at, by the surgeons office good news: prognosis is optimistic, anticipating some measure of nerve repair and returning feeling bad news: surgery is definitely needed, will likely extend the incision. follow up and rehabilitation needed too. worst news: MONEY ;;;;;;;

update mostly major tissue damage in the muscular palm of the thumb, arterial bleed that was difficult to manage. 10 stitches. likely severed interior superficial nerve of the thumb, touch is completely numb on interior thumb. motor nerve seems fine with ROM surgery and PT is likely
