Three years ago, my dad said that all fish are the same shape.
Out of spite, I decided to draw all 478 families of bony fish listed in Nelson 2016. There's still some stuff I need to edit and some fish I want to redraw but, after 985 days, I finished my big dumb fish project last night.
This is Russell Dickert. He is the pig that punched a woman in the face for wearing a T-shirt he didn't like and having an opinion he didn't agree with. Let’s make him famous, maybe he’ll get his very own mugshot!
Students made their first minicomics in my intro making course - mostly standard format but this student, a first time maker(!), did something so off the charts I’m still reeling from it! & he made like 12 of them for his classmates! A paper engineering feat of flipbookery as well as killer drawing!
Thank you for defending my work and that of modern comic creators, Ian.
Comics are plagued by old guys who don't actually read the current comics but condemn them anyway.
The dark side of nostalgia.
@patrickzircher.bsky.social I just wrote this about you on Facebook. Guy I’m replying to had commented on Tim Conrad’s “Worms of the Earth” completion (which I was disappointed by in 1976, as it wasn’t Barry, but like a lot now).
The Library is devastated to learn of the passing of Dolly Parton, a music legend and titan of children's literacy. Her Imagination Library program has earned multiple Library Literacy Awards and, in 2018, she visited us to donate its 100 millionth book to our collection and host a story time. 🦋❤️
I’ve said it plenty of times before - Mon-el’s costume is on the short list of best ever (along with Kid Flash, Havok, and Green Lantern). It’s just perfect.
The utterly fabulous science fiction paper theatre figures from "The Buck Rogers Cut Out Adventure Book." (1933) which was actually a #papertheater, designed to be played with while listening to the radio serial. Probably the earliest sci-fi #paperminis#standees I'm aware of. #retrofuturism
Capybaras patiently waiting for traffic before making their grand road crossing in Brazil is a sight you don't want to miss. Nature's charm at its best!
Scott McCloud’s book “Understanding Comics: The Invisible Art” was originally published in 1993. An immediate critical and commercial success, it went on to become the most widely cited book about comics. Among comics scholars, McCloud's opus is both beloved and widely debated. 1/10

Remember to watch the movie Harvey with Jimmy Stewart this weekend. The greatest Easter film of all time, and if you haven't seen it you're in for a real treat.
A drunk has an invisible rabbit as bestie & drives his family insane, but he knows who he is & knows what's true. It's a beautiful film.
Titan and Heroic have announced in the pages of Savage Sword 13 that I have a new Solomon Kane series coming.
Solomon Kane - The Lion Errant
Telling Solomon Kane stories-- it's the stuff my dreams are made of.
I'll let you know the order dates as soon as I can.
