Following a gpu driver issue that left me unable to play games, I switched to Omarchy (archlinux) to test another driver. Linux actually lit up my passion to tinker around my pc again. Such a nice platform, and with omarchy built-ins, I can toy around and fallback to the defaults.

Donald Trump now claiming the United States hasn’t just illegally kidnapped the Venezuelan president and his wife, but also that it carried out a coup and will run the country until the US government chooses a new leader for Venezuela. There’s no way the world can let this stand.

🇨🇦 Canada Feed Update 🚨 Francophones: pleased to announce that the 🇨🇦 Canada Feed will now pick up more relevant ICI Radio-Canada articles with or without a hashtag This builds on the feed's existing support for such major French-language pubs as La Presse and Le Devoir

Started reading Careless People and the witty deadpan writing got me hooked. Obviously the substance is dramatic, but the presentation has its claws right into me.

That’s the genius of the polarization narrative: It provides the language for a lament that satisfies the longing for unity – while constantly fueling it in turn! – by offering a consensual interpretation. It is a form of elite consensus re-established through the back door.

not to be histrionic but I kind of feel like the confluence of Trumpism, algorithmic social media, and LLMs have placed language and the fundamental proposition that words have meaning under unprecedented strain and it’s freaking me out more than a bit

i love when the tech ceos confirm what i’ve been saying for years yes, the US is worried about its geopolitical position, but the tech industry has seized on that fear and amplified it to protect its own power by trying to stifle regulations and antitrust cases

The UK is embracing AI at any cost as it’s desperate to increase economic growth. But is that a good strategy? This week @meadwaj.bsky.social joins @parismarx.com to discuss what’s happening in the UK and the consequences of allowing US tech to dominate. Full ep: techwontsave.us/episode/266_...

Wrote up something about Techdirt's recent coverage, and why (whether we like it or not) we need to be a "democracy blog" now, rather than just a "tech" blog (not that we've ever been just a tech blog). This story is *the* story and it impacts everything else. www.techdirt.com/2025/03/04/w...

Also, I looked for a question or feedback section on the website and couldn't find one. Let me know if there's a better space to make suggestions.

Aaaand it's live! Loooots of stuff went into that release. Next up: ViteJS in production mode.

We designed a staggered release: first dev mode, with the new architecture and then the prod build, with the removal of webpack. It's been a tough release, with many side effects we didn't plan. Most of them had nothing to do with vite, but with legacy components and such.

The biggest change we had to work around was easily a new Layout component to switch between apps. ( We have a sort of Frankenstein website, with many sub-projects running side by side. The router handles all the magic of SPA navigation)

I've been a pretty pessimist/nihilist towards AI and all its derivative. But tonight I pulled and ran locally Deepseek R1. I'm still pessimistic, and I do believe AI is overall a bad outcome for civilization, but it did work on my machine and it was pretty cool.

I really, really don't want to do this, but let's do a bit (just a LITTLE BIT) of fact checking about what Zuck said on the Joe Rogan podcast, because this is something I not only followed closely, but also spent time *talking to the actual people at Meta who dealt with this* which WAS NOT ZUCK.
