Note-takers are the unsung heroes of TC39. Without them, no progress could be made. It is right to give them thanks and praise. Here's to those who helped at this week's meeting! 🥳👏🙌 👇

We are THRILLED to announce that our Ecma standards will now use UUIDs instead of integers. ECMA-262 is now ECMA-39c506d7-731f-4220-8ffd-a68970945a65. Far more scalable. No two specs will ever collide again. Perfect system. Shortened forms like ECMA-39c506d7 are acceptable in casual conversation.

A back-compat alias may be provided for a short deprecation period as a courtesy. You're welcome.

We are also considering whether each new revision should get a new UUID. Stay tuned.

Last week we were able to present @robpalmer.bsky.social with his physical Ecma Recognition Award! 🎉 This was followed by an extensive round of tributes and praise, which Rob endured somewhat uncomfortably, at every opportunity urging us to cease and attend to the waiting celebratory Temporal cake.

ECMAScript Excitement 🎉 This week, TC39 elected a new editor group for the ECMAScript specification (ECMA-262). Editors are: ✨ Linus Groh ✨ Michael Ficarra ✨ Nicolò Ribaudo (@nicr.dev) ✨ Richard Gibson ✨ Ron Buckton (@chronicles.org) ✨ Shu-yu Guo (@rfrn.org)

We're grateful to Michael and Shu for continuing and excited to welcome Linus, Nicolò, Richard, and Ron. Many thanks to Kevin Gibbons (@bakkot.com) for his years of service as an editor; we look forward to his continued participation in committee.

ECMAScript Euphoria! 🎉 We don't always post when a single proposal advances, but when we do, it's Temporal -> Stage 4. Just days shy of 9 years from Stage 1, a herculean effort on the part of many champions, delegates, invited experts, and contributors, past and present. Thank you all! 🙌

The awards are well-deserved; we're fortunate to have them on committee and look forward to their continued participation, hopefully for many years to come. Congratulations, and thank you both for all you've done!
