Hey remember a couple months ago when I almost died from sleep apnea and begged y'all to be checked if you have symptoms of sleep apnea? Eric Bauza just died from sleep apnea. We were the same age. Don't ignore sleep apnea.

Ryan Estrada@ryanestrada.com

Do you get a full night's sleep but wake up feeling like death? Does your whole body feel off in ways you can't explain? Research signs of Sleep Apnea. Get a sleep test. You can't diagnose it yourself, cuz you sleepin'.

Between this and Ramaswamy, I think the GOP has lost touch with reality so much they're just making ads for Dems now.

How racist and desperate do you have to be to look at this and say, “Got ‘em!”?

So apparently the MN Campaign Finance Board has ruled that these mailers are not intended to influence the election. I assume this is because they don't mention her candidacy for governor and instead advocate telling Senator Klobuchar to "change her tune."

Minnesota Star Tribune@startribune.com

Mailers have targeted Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s record on police accountability and Israel. Who is paying for them remains unclear.

15 yo reports that all clear was called, but there is a heavy police presence. Wife's colleagues (she just got back in the middle of the night from a week with her family) were earlier reporting armored cops with automatic weapons searching the perimeter and inside.

Hennepin County: tell your loved ones about Cedrick Frazier

Jill Bernard@jillybee72.bsky.social

I’m still laughing at the desperate way I handed my husband a piece of paper that said CEDRICK FRAZIER at the early voting center, because I realized we hadn’t talked about the whole ballot.

Something a lot of people don't understand is that law firms are *owned* by the partners. He is not an employee of Jones Day, he is a part-owner of Jones Day. It is fully legitimate to blame him for the decisions the firm makes; he helps make them.

I live in a rural town and, like, I don't know how to tell you this, but the girls play on the boys team and vice versa all the time because otherwise we don't have enough players for a game and it's literally always fine so stop being weirdos about kids sports and just let trans kids play.

So we're still doing tv blackouts, huh? And the idea is that if we wanted to watch tonight's wolves game we'd have bought tickets? Is that what they expect of us, do I have that right?

what's killing me about the cheesecake factory discourse is that Obama didn't even say the cheesecake is bad, he said it looks crazy in there and it does. even if you like the food, it does in fact look fucking crazy in there

Fred Beukema reposted

I think people intuitively understand that democratic candidates tossing trans kids to the wolves is not only morally repugnant but also politically ineffective, otherwise they wouldn't freak out every time someone said they weren't voting for a democrat who did this

our system is set up to favor the major parties we have to push out ken martin and all the democrats who want it to be the party that will throw trans people under the bus and defend israel’s genocide and continue to fuck over working people

We need enough of a Blue Wave to marginalize willing discriminators like this twerp.

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

One of the most effective things Obama could do for the party is let it rip like this all year long. He's so good, but he saves it for rallies a few weeks before elections like it's a severely-limited resource and that's just not how the modern communications environment has evolved.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

“How much time do you think this defense secretary spends looking in the mirror in the morning? These are not serious people” — Obama’s audience in Ohio is hanging on every word as he skewers Trump and Hegseth

Is 2019 the only year we've had an election off in Minneapolis since 2015? Mad at Phyllis Kahn all over again today.

Max Hailperin@maxhailperin.bsky.social

If, as is widely expected, there turns out to be a special primary and a special election, then those will be the subject of a supplemental budget request, rather than being part of the main budget proposal. The number of dollars may also shrink in the process, but even if not, it *looks* better.

As we approach the midterms, remember that the Alt National Park Service is a merch sales operation claiming without evidence to be a group of federal employees, and is not a genuine source of news about elections of any kind. Please get your election info from a local, reputable source.

Extremely interesting piece from @cip.uw.edu at the University of Washington. Long story short, they identify the Alt National Park Service as a key amplifier of conspiratorial misinformation about a "mail dumping" news story last month.

Minneapolis: I still have a dream of making Spanish for Community Safety lessons a thing, but I also feel a real need to take *intensive* Spanish lessons bc I can’t bear to do another surge with my nonexistent skills. Any leads where $ would go to folks at least adjacent to vulnerable communities?

In a major escalation in Dems embracing anti-trans positions, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the official campaign arm of House Democrats, released its first anti-trans ad supporting Nancy Lacore in SC-01. Transphobia is spreading among dems. Subscribe to support our journalism.

You know what pissed me off about the Ramaswamy ad beyond the obvious grotesqueries? There’s no EVIDENCE disputing Acton’s life story. There are court proceedings backing up her story. And all Ramaswamy’s got is the (accused) mother saying “nu uh” and somehow that’s enough? FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY

Fred Beukema reposted

rly thought they were gonna cut ramaswamy loose for what is the ugliest ploy in politics in my memory! but instead they’re making it their party platform. literally the party of abuse and rape. i know writers who use subtext and they’re cowards

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "Ramaswamy put up a very powerful Ad about a mother saying that her daughter, Acton, is a liar, and much worse. The Press is trying to get him to 'take down the Ad.' Frankly, anybody whose mother spoke about daughter that way would normally lead to the daughter being precluded from serving"

I got curious about it, so here are the ages at which the previous Bond actors played him (using release dates): Connery: 32-41 (+53) Lazenby: 30 Moore: 45-57 Dalton: 41-43 Brosnan: 42-49 Craig: 38-53

Callum Turner, Jack Lowden, and Josh O’Connor will all apparently be doing their final screen tests to play 007 in the next week.
