Side note: I've been vibrating sitting on this news for eight months and the fact that I didn't spoil the announcement today by walking around telling literally everyone I know that we're doing this is a minor miracle

Being involved with a new edition of Phoenix is an honor (and a huge responsibility). The series will be published in six large-sized (7x10") hardcover editions with cloth casewrap, screenprinting, and gold foil. I'm not sure which words in this sentence to put scare quotes around

A truly Pacific Northwest tale. English ivy is taking over every surface. Coyotes are eating all the local pets. Your only allies against the chaos are a fixie bike, the local gardening co-op, and some kid who plays too much D&D

InfoWars fans are the greatest chess players in the world. Which is why we’re making the best Chess movie in movie history.

The Odyssey in Imax is pretty good but you know what's great? Wildwood in a huge Dolby Cinema. Highlight of my week. I laughed, cried, gasped, soared. Breathtaking. In my top five fantasy films somewhere for sure. Feed your heart by seeing it on the biggest screen you can, while you can.

It's a real indictment of the movie industry—specifically how much execs underestimate teens and tweens—that this film isn't getting a bigger marketing push. If we still have theaters, Wildwood will get a big theatrical rerelease for its 20th anniversary.

Early on in Wildwood, Prue bikes past a market stall with a sign reading "Enjoy Handmade Art, Before It's Gone for Good!" and I wish that shit wasn't quite so literal

Netflix has told several people going forward with new pitches that they plan for all animated shows from now on to be AI. I've heard this more than once now.

This is interesting—a bot that posts how close two points *could* be if suburban walls and yards weren't in the way vs. how far you actually have to walk

Columbus, Ohio It could be: 311 feet But it's actually: 1.4 miles Ratio: 23.38x #suburbs #fail

CoPilot: It's For Jagoffs

KetAnthropic JoshAI@ketanjoshi.co

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

I don't say this often but fuckin A, Utah

More Perfect Union@moreperfectunion.bsky.social

HUGE: Utah is suing Kalshi over what it calls a “brazen pattern of unlawful conduct” and is asking a judge to order the company to stop offering wagers in the state immediately. It also wants the prediction market to pay back the millions it’s made off residents. www.sltrib.com/news/2026/10...

Yeahhhh that's not the bg motif you want in the upper right there if you're fearmongering about China. These gutter racists can't even keep their yellow perils straight.

The Tennessee Holler @thetnholler.bsky.social

“Conservatives for Hatley” responds the latest anti-China fearmongering attack mailers against Independent candidate for Governor David Hatley, pointing out how hypocritical it is for corrupt @MarshaBlackburn to make those claims: www.facebook.com/share/g/182v... Nervous, Marsha?

Ok I know this probably sucked but if I would love for someone to make a version of it that's actually as good as I'm imagining right now that it could be. Maybe I'll start by just putting Cracker Jack on ice cream and go from there

Cash or card, Mr. Lowry?

People also cant believe there is such a thing as “cell rent.” 41 states have it & even if you leave early states like FL make you pay the TOTALITY of your original stay. One Black woman was billed $127,000 ($50 a day for 2,555 days) for the full 7 years of her sentence despite only staying 10 mos

Just hit me that almost every "paranoia dream sequence" shot in Perfect Blue could have been faked by Mr. Me-Mania using AI if the story took place today

A brilliant example of the craft of investigative journalism, from the evidence gathered to the descriptions of the people & places. And then there's the story itself, which is horrifying, but ultimately inspiring. God bless this young woman for persisting. www.motherjones.com/criminal-jus...

The award-winning one-shot manga My Journey to Her is now available in print! An honest, and at times, humorous look at the author's trip from Japan to Thailand for her gender-affirming surgery, this memoir does not shy away from sensitive topics! https://ow.ly/2syK50ZUN43
