Amateur juggler (very much in the sense of the French amateur "one who loves, lover", from which it is derived). Linux geek, dogherd, enough of a programmer to get myself in trouble.
ALL OPINIONS ARE XIOMBARG'S.
Is there a term for doomscrolling bluesky? I don't think there's enough doom here for that to be accurate, but I've been here all weekend, none the less.
Trump on Iran: "They were nuclear and drug. They were doing drugs but they were doing the nuclear. But these drug factories slash nuclear factories were hit so hard."
Remember: Wealth cannot be separated from power.
We're seeing in real time how the extreme concentration of wealth is distorting our politics, rigging markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of people.
Taxing the rich isn't just an economic issue, it's a defense of our democracy.
Watched the Kentucky Derby today. Here in Louisville, Derby season is seen as 'kinda fun'. Bigass fireworks display/airshow two weeks before derby. Day before, Muhammed-Ali International airport becomes a parking lot for lear jets. Punctuated by the most self-congratulatory two minutes in sports.
Folks from Harvard are starting a company whose goal is to enhance human memory via an AI computer interface (www.msn.com/en-us/money/...). This sounds like a really tempting bad idea.
My short term memory suuuuuucks. In a perfect world, the idea of offloading that to a computer sounds really nice./
We had a rose like this growing next to a fence when I was in high school. That house was sold, I moved away decades ago, but it continues to live in my memory.
Ok, let me get this straight. Black Tuesday was bad, but Black Friday is good? Also, we have Good Friday, but it's *not* on Black Friday, and arguably wasn't terribly good.

What we have is an administration that aims to undermine civilization itself.
Not everyone is a fan of civilization, but I love the arts and amenities of urban centers. I love medicine and libraries and education and communication.
Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."
learned recently that the guy who wrote "The Night Before Christmas," clement clarke moore, also wrote a takedown of thomas jefferson's proto-scientific racism in "Notes on the State of Virginia," basically accusing him and others of making it up to justify slavery. which, that's right.
He hates American values and principles. He hates democracy. He despises the Constitution and its constraints. He hates most Americans. All he desires is money, power and staying out of jail. Am I missing something?
What do you think made America great?
I’ve traveled the world, and every time I come home, I’m reminded of what makes this place special: the culture, the mix of people, the constant diversity. I love this country.
And I also know who truly hates America:
• The KKK
• 3 Percenters
• Proud Boys

My favorite exchange from my hometown #NOkings rally today:
A lady driving by yelled JESUS IS COMING YA'LL! at us
I shouted back TELL HIM TO HURRY UP
And the lovely hair done Fully made up southern lady in front of me yelled
HONEY, DON'T YOU DEPORT HIM!
It was beautiful.
