Thing about the Shane Gillis set is... It just wasn't funny. You can be very cavalier with potentially offensive material if you have something insightful to say, and are able to construct a genuinely unexpected, funny joke around it. Another thing I disliked about the new Spider-man. I think the dissonance of workplace plus ninjas was purposeful but wasn't used to any skilled comedic effect and so just felt stupid. Let them be funny!
