a woman reached out to donate 500,000 delta skymiles to get people home to MN as they are released from custody in TX. we're getting flights booked today. it should be enough to get at least 15 people home. delta should be doing for free since they take ICE money.

Ashley; I was just up there (at Powwow too!). If they need a medic anywhere specifically, please reach out and let me know. I can be up there on TH/FR/and SATs, it's about a three hour drive. My kit is well stocked. 💙✊🪶

Yes, Americas post-prison reentry process has always consisted of "K bye, good luck!" It's why I recidivism rate is so high. People don't know how to cope and they don't get any help.

Why? If Delta is taking money from ICE for these flights, one photo op as an act of contrition seems paltry in comparison to the lives ruined and afforded by Delta airlines.

Well, they take ICE's money because they are a for-profit business, and making money is literally their purpose. How would they accomplish that by flying illegal aliens for free?

It costs 48,500 to fly from San Antonio, closest to where the Dilley facility is located, if you wanted to fly tomorrow. It's otherwise 39,000 from Dallas and 43,500 from Austin. 50,000 is a completely sensible number to use accordingly.

Sounds like you’re just the right person to start and run with this idea among your friends, then make one group donation to on-the-ground organizers! Taking on admin & organizational labor can be another great way to help.

I don’t have nearly enough Delta miles for the threshold but please let me know if there’s a similar thing for Southwest. 20K + miles that I’m more than happy to part with. (And according to the app, it looks like they do have a donation program.)

Shared with all my Atlanta people who fly delta cause it’s a hub there! But let’s all be real, delta is never going to donate these flights, their flights attendants still aren’t unionized!

Isn't ICE willing to pay for self-deportation for immigrants? How about we take that money and use it to pay for getting citizens home from the concentration camps instead...
