Translation: The text and implementation are done, working on fixing some last issues. Testing: Still ongoing. One tester said "players will find it very inconvenient that you cannot save or load in the Light World"... I was initially resistant, but I decided to add Save Points there in Chapter 4.

Ch4 PC Testing / Translation: Winding down. No longer looking for new issues, only fixing and checking remaining ones. Console Testing: Starts tomorrow. The goal is to test Chapter 1,2,3,4 on all platforms (PC,Mac,Switch,PS4,PS5)

PlayStation makes it a requirement to have trophies (achievements), so those will be one of the things that have to be tested. I don't think they're going to like testing the trophies though

All of the trophies are just exact one to one with undertale’s but you have to ask Sans and he’ll take you to whichever room the trophy was in. There would be no lore or anything behind it, it’s just Sans saying “hey check out this cool place” and every time it would be behind his house.

Honestly this is a useful video for me because I'm currently in the very super early stages of developing a game (nothing as elaborate at Deltarune just a simple project as a starting off point) and I have debated porting the final product onto whatever consoles are around by the time its done lol

Still console testing. There are fewer bugs, but there's a lot to go through. (Haven't even tested PS5 yet) In addition to fixing Ch3/Ch4, we also need to implement having saves from the DEMO carry over to the main game on consoles... We only received the technology to do this now. I hope it works!

I don't get it. Pluey fits perfect for being a date. The same date (may, 21st) appears in both Pluey and Steam (2105 -> 21st may). The fact that it alls fits so perfectly looks like enough for Pluey being nothing but a date. Probably a release date. Why so many theories?? Am I missing anything?

I know absolutely nothing about game design, but what would be different about the ps4 & ps5 versions of deltarune? (like, technology wise) The ps5 can run ps4 games just fine - i dont really see a need for a ps5 exclusive version unless toby just wants to increase the fps or something

It's still different hardware, there'd likely be minimal problems between the console versions, but you still got to check if any problems will crop up before release. Especially considering that Deltarune is the first game to use a completely brand new feature of the GameMaker engine.

Sure, but what else would that mean? Perhaps there are just a lot of them. I assume they involve the secret bosses, perhaps weird routes, specific interactions with the townspeople, giving something "entertaining" to Mettaton, etc. Either difficult or meticulous achievements.

It makes sense from the perspective of games as products. They want a consistent experience across their entire platform. It doesn't make sense from the perspective of games as art, where something that makes sense for *most* games might be wrong for one game in particular.

While that sounds annoying, you might as well test if Achievements/Trophies work on changing chapters too: a "Complete Chapter [number]" Trophy line is a -reasonable- testing option (from: Deltafakes), it can be easily tested repeatedly since you just gotta get to the end of each chapter credits

I think people are forgetting the achievements Toby did for undertale where he avoided spoilers by giving simple and funny achievements I doubt anything will be oriented to secrets or different “routes”/ways to play the game. I’m just hyped it’s almost time

I'm assuming that both chapters will be released at the exact same time, but a small gap between the release of both chapters (like a week) would be nice, releasing two chapters that are (combined) around the size of 1+2 at the exact same time would be overwhelming imo.

My brother plays undertale on PS5 and he likes the trophies (mainly the dognantion trophies ) can’t wait to watch him play deltarune and unlock the trophies on deltarune. Thanks for all your work Toby Fox.
