Played Shadow the Hedgehog for the first time earlier this year, and while I can't say it's good, it is extremely funny for probably all the wrong (right) reasons

To be honest, that's kind of on theme for Shadow.

Of course the other half is into Blaze and Rouge

that and uhhh what was it MadWorld, that wii beat em up with a cool artstyle and some of the most crass dogshit writing ive ever heard put in the mouths of very good voice actors

Colors is so funny because it's like, they clearly did not know how to end a joke. They'd start a joke, draw it out, and then just...keep aimlessly wandering around with it, with no clue how or when to deliver the punchline. It's kinda hilarious in that way, but not intentionally.

Yeah I agree The Adventure games were shonen anime, Colors and the like was like... PBS Kids tier lol

Idk I do actually kinda defend that aspect of Colours because I like that it brings back a lot of stuff that sort of got dropped from the series. I like that it centred back in on Sonic and Tails’ interactions and remembers the more environmentalist angle of the early games.

i havent played Sonic & the Black Knight but the stuff ive seen of the story bits (his last credits writing a Sonic game) are fucking incredible. and i understand Sonic X gets really good as well. i <3 Ian Flynn and his ascendance but Maekawa deserves far, far more credit as a writer for the series

this is similarly why the drive to get Flynn canned after a game and a half from a certain subsect of the fanbase drives me nuts like we wouldnt be getting Maekawa back, we'd be getting another Safe Childrens' Freelance writer for a decade again at least Flynn likes writing these characters

Yea to some degree I love how much they fucking went for it? like fuck yeah sonic adventure 1 can tell a nonlinear story about the scars and cycles of violence caused by imperialism (actually honestly unironically I do kinda enjoy adventure 1-2s stories admittedly lol)
