We just released 11 CVEs for Bandit, most being 8.7 (HIGH), so please update to version 1.14.0 ASAP. Thanks to @mtrudel.bsky.social for triaging and fixing these vulnerabilities promptly ❀️ #ElixirLang

Every LiveView app starts with one small JavaScript hook. Then there are forty. Matt Swensen from Jump is on Track 2 with 'Hooked on Performance: Taming LiveView's JavaScript Hooks at Scale'. #CodeBEAM #LiveView

But it's really, really hard to build an LLM harness that optimizes for writing code that'll be easy to maintain 10 years from now. I'm skeptical we'll see such a thing in the near term. (That's why all the benchmarks test whether the LLM can build a thing that works todayβ€”that's programming, baby!)

Hi! πŸ‘‹ Sentry Elixir SDK 14.0 is now available! πŸŽ‰ It comes with improvements in the PII data scrubbing APIs, better handling of user-provided callbacks (before_send etc.), AND changes how structured logging and metrics are configured. Please read the CHANGELOG πŸ‘‡ github.com/getsentry/se...

This benchmark got worse the more people looked into it. He basically said the one-shotted everything, but what he actually did was very different. The Rust iteration got way more work. And the first version of Elixir was faster than the first version of Rust πŸ˜‚

βš—οΈ Elixir Tip #34 - Parsing options βš—οΈ The Elixir standard library offers a convenient way of parsing CLI arguments and casting them to the appropriate types. #ElixirLang #Erlang #Livebook

Really excited for this one. My colleague Matt knows his stuff when it comes to frontend performance, and he’s come up with tricks I’ve never seen anyone else even hint at.

✏️ My pull request for a refund feature grew past 3,000 lines. At that size, a code review can't do its job: reviewers miss things or rubber-stamp it. So I stopped adding to it and started extracting the unrelated fixes and tests into their own PRs. mikezornek.com/posts/2026/9...

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» Posted some follow-up observations about phoenix_test performance. #ElixirLang TL;DR: Yes, it can be slower (because it is doing more helpful work), but `async: true` should be your first target if you're having trouble with test wall-clock time -- always. forum.elixirforum.com/t/one-pipe-o...

πŸ’œ A favor to ask: I'm looking to land Elixir consulting work. To help get in front of new faces, I have a "one problem, two weeks, $6,000" offer. Aimed at one nagging thing: a flaky test suite, a stalled upgrade. The debt that falls on the floor. A share or an intro would mean a lot. πŸ™ #ElixirLang
