I'll be working on a video next on the various new features in Phoenix and LiveView in 2025 and 2026 that I don't see as many people talking about: colocated hooks, the scopes pattern, the new layout pattern, etc.

🚀 Mishka CMS 0.0.1 is out! An open source CMS built on Elixir, Phoenix LiveView and Ash. Your pages, layouts and components live in the database and compile into real LiveView modules at runtime Publish a change. No redeploy, no restart. ✨ #ElixirLang mishka.tools/blog/mishka-...

New homepage at dizzy.style what do you think? If you haven't signed up at dizzy.style/newsletter yet and you are interested in the project I'd appreciate it if you would, I will not spam you with a bunch of emails and it helps me gauge interest levels

@peterullrich.com recently ran a huge security scan on all of #AshFramework repositories. He found a lot, we fixed them all, and I wrote a bit about it here: ash-hq.org/blog/concent...

AI content in a technology blog post breaks a very core contract of what's going on when you seek out a blog or article on some question you have. the problem is: I already have access to an LLM. If I wanted to know what an LLM thought about a question, I would just ask it.

ahh nvm it would rely on something like this being done first: open-ui.org/components/f...

So with `appearance: base-select`, I feel like it should be possible now to build a custom element combobox that adds all the features you expect in a combobox but still uses a `select` tag behind the scenes... has anyone built that yet?

I’m trying to design a combobox for dizzy.style. God help me

FYI consumers of live_toast, I don’t know why I didn’t have this idea before, but I just realized we can ship a default set of components that use classes that compile the same in both tailwind v3 and v4. So the next version will include that.

I'm releasing my new (very experimental still!) library for detecting n+1 queries in Elixir applications that use Ecto: github.com/srcrip/ecto_... Please try it out if you have the opportunity and let me know what you think, or even better, contribute some PRs to it if you can!

Also, does anyone else make “project” directories for stuff that’s not code, just so you can have a AGENT.md file that helps your agent help you better with non coding tasks?

Should I make a Phoenix component kit + Starter Kit? Would people buy a paid one?

Has anyone ever seen: Failed to push hook event: failed with reason: {"reason":"unmatched topic"} In any of their Production LiveView apps? Please get in touch with me if so...

I think I’ve settled on the arrangement that, in terms of productivity tools, I’m comfortable using Notion for anything that may ever be public, and Obsidian for everything that I never want public

Interesting HN post I read just now, thoughts?

Building a simcity clone in eMacs elisp is potentially the coolest and pointlessly nerdiest thing I’ve ever seen: www.reddit.com/r/emacs/s/Va...

Why go to all this effort. Just tell Claude what you want it to do. It’s truely that simple.

one of the most annoying tendencies of otherwise smart people is using lingo from their field in 10000 unrelated situations where it just sounds stupid. IF you use the term 'impedance mismatch' outside of an electronics conversation I think you should go to jail

Hey yall, I've been kind revamping my online spaces. I've moved my blog to blog.src.rip, and I've added a little landing page (still a wip) directly to src.rip.
