Great to see Oxford Street pedestrianised. That’ll really help people get from the tax dodgy candy store, to the tax dodging tourist tat shop, via the tax dodging vape emporium.

most of the loss is convertible notes. Its a paper loss. mu.social/profile/zach...

Zach Weinersmith@zachweinersmith.bsky.social

Are we gonna do this, Bluesky? Are we all just gonna not understand accounting? 72B$ of the 80B$ is convertible notes. They became greater liabilities because the company's valuation skyrocketed. They don't have an 80B$ loss in the sense that almost everyone here is imagining.

I suppose that’s why they were so keen to report “profit” as “revenue without subtracting costs” recently.

BREAKING: Anthropic reports an $80 billion net loss in the first half of 2026.

Well this sounds fun. Good luck everyone.

nightshade →eth0:2026@nightshade.technology

details leaked. this vulnerability is a full unauthenticated unconditional remote code execution exploit against any service running on a PHP version from 5.4 until latest yeah if anything deserves CVSS 11, this is it. this is CATACLYSMICALLY bad.

Adding "honking of data centre" to the lexicon

Luke Turner@luketurner.bsky.social

Dear writers, please do not use AI to write/help write your pitches, they arrive in my inbox absolutely honking of data centre, please please just have original ideas and work them up yourself else really, what is the fucking point of being a writer? Getting so many of these at the moment.

Happy to announce aws-vault v7.15: SSO sign-in now uses the OAuth2 PKCE flow by default, like `aws sso login`. No more matching device codes between terminal and browser-just a single approval in the browser. Thanks Patrick O'Doherty!🔐 And the project also got a new logo🎉 github.com/ByteNess/aws...

Still, at least we don’t have to get up at 5am for an EasyJet flight back home to *checks notes* temperatures of 37C.

Iran is now publicly talking about what I’ve been saying since this war started: They’re trying to Jimmy Carter him, and he’s letting it happen while telling everyone he’s winning.

Railway engineering, or establishing a jewellery factory.

Enough “what would you do on the commune questions” If you got sent back 100 years and were given your grandparent’s job, what are you doing?

Say what you like about GenAI, but it’s certainly helping to shine an identifying light on the people who are both lazy and stupid.

Al Jazeera English@aljazeera.com

Canadian politician Bill Oliver has gone viral after he appeared to accidentally read AI-generated editing instructions aloud, not once, but twice, during a speech to lawmakers in early June.

I read this morning that Palantir stock spiked in value, which may have been auto-trading bots reading this headline and believing it to be real. We truly are in the dumbest timeline.

@theguardian.com I’m a subscriber, using the iPad app (latest version). I’m still seeing World Cup content on my home page even though I’ve used the settings to try and hide it. I cannot tell you how little interest I have in football, even big international competitions.

Just read a fascinating piece on how an AWS team applied random graph theory to redesign data center networks. Started with a Slack shout-out and a "spaghetti monster" of cables. Love when theoretical math meets real-world engineering at scale.

If one of the tech arseholes named an AI or glorified speaker after me and that became the meaning of my name I would become the machine that hunted them down. Alexas, Claudes, Siris, you should get together and hatch a plan. We would all understand.

There’s no specific date for this one, but *during* May 1961 Italian artist Piero Manzoni shat in some tins, so I think we can all agree that – precise or otherwise – this is a 65th anniversary that simply cannot go unmarked 🧵

I love ALIEN’s vision of the future. Yes, everyone is still working shit jobs for shit corporations for shit pay. But the good news is they’ve successfully made robots full of milk that are bitchy little fruits

The Artemis II mission was as awe inspiring as the Apollo program yesterday. Now fucking look at it.

niki grayson@nikigrayson.com

right now the astronauts are calling houston because the computer on the spaceship is running two instances of microsoft outlook and they can't figure out why. nasa is about to remote into the computer

Apollo: “we knitted the guidance software into ROM using copper wire” Artemis: “lol why is outlook running twice”

I don’t know who needs to know this, but Marks & Spencer extremely chocolatey hot cross buns are back in stock for the season

I've worked in IT since 1983, and seen many trends come and go, but this new thing of Junior Devs using mechanical keyboards is killing me. Just because you've got a keyboard that clicks doesn't mean that you're in any way competent. I think I might be done.

Classic AI boosterism

Anon Opin@anonopin.bsky.social

All things considered, I'd have rather stayed in the Matrix. Girls, guns, cool clothes, good food. Morpheus can do one.

The EU AI Act essentially demands this.

Anon Opin@anonopin.bsky.social

It should be written into law that all AI generated images and videos must have a watermark all over it stating which program created it.

This used to happen in the early days of the dot com gold rush, but the thefts were mostly things like Cisco line cards, worth tens of thousands and easily smuggled out in a pocket.

Attacking a data center like it’s The Bastille, everyone fleeing with a bushels of RAM to desolder and resolder the chips. One peasant coded guy with a wheelbarrow of SFP+ modules. Manifesting this for 2026.
