Very timely for Watson to be saying "yes we'd absolutely build the immigration fash tech for the fascists" given this just yesterday

Open Rights Group@openrightsgroup.org

🚨 BREAKING 🚨 ORG has carried out a 6-month investigation into AI use in the UK asylum system. We've found high error rates and claimants unaware that AI is being used. This could have catastrophic consequences for people whose future is in the hands of Home Office decision-making. Read more ⬇️

Adding "honking of data centre" to the lexicon

Luke Turner@luketurner.bsky.social

Dear writers, please do not use AI to write/help write your pitches, they arrive in my inbox absolutely honking of data centre, please please just have original ideas and work them up yourself else really, what is the fucking point of being a writer? Getting so many of these at the moment.

Have to say I'm a little disappointed in the monktoberfest crowd for not telling me there was a cat themed weed dispensary here called Meowy Jane

Worried I may have been coerced into doing the Gloucestershire cheese roll run and then giving a serious business talk about it #monktoberfest

Definitely going to a completely legitimate tech conference with serious business people on a boat / in a brewery #monktoberfest #foliage

I very rarely race as I really don't need hundreds of other running dickheads spoiling the view but I'm sure I wouldn't have finished this weekend so strong without the aid station volunteers. Having a stranger call you by your first name & ask what you need when you're 9 hours deep is pretty great

It took 14 months but I finally found the last one. Touché, brother-in-law

Absurd. Deep into the many layered day of gout, a 6th purple dachshund has been found in the camembert dish

Any Bristol/SW crew wanting to see Smote tonight I have 2 tickets available. Last night of their tour in a tiny pub yet I am forever doomed to miss them when they play locally,

"Nothing new on race day" also "Our aid stations are stocked with 6 cheese lasagna, our mothers homemade casserole, 4 kinds of tiramisu, power cake and dust" Shoutout to the race organisers putting on a great spread but where can I train with these mobile buffets?

There's around a dozen cows in our garden. Fairly normal countryside procedure except we live on what is essentially a cliff and they are likely stuck. Spot the cow

It's nice when you spend 6 months building a thing and then you start wondering if actually it was premature and maybe it's not needed and then the literal next day your planet size customer asks "would you happen to have a thing that looks exactly like the thing you've just spent 6 months building"

Quite a lot of cow negotiation on this morning's run, including this belty who was busy reading a Laurie Lee poem in front of the gate I needed to go through

Get an e-bike so you can ride over the hills to the next village and do The Weird Machine Pilates and then ride home with this view

Finished reading the Lord of the Rings books yesterday for the first time. This Tolkein guy is quite good it turns out, keep an eye on that name. Ran to one of the highest points in Gloucestershire this morning, extremely middle earth vibes.

Slowly building back running distance means I get to see places I haven't been to for almost 2 years. Been looking forward to doing this route again for a long time

The only day of the year I look forward to getting up at 4:30am. Walk up the hill, find the 8ft suave pig and the fiddle player; a wee pagan jig until the sun comes up, oh look the pub is open.
