The internet can be pretty gullible about tech products, but congrats to everyone who called exactly what this was going to be used for from the first moment they saw it.

Just thinking about the ad I saw today for the "apple-shaped snack" with the words "snack me!" as the call to action If you can't legally call it an apple, I'm not eating it pal, and I am certainly NOT "snacking" it

I don't agree but this is a powerful flex

The Devil Wears Prada and The Muppet Christmas Carol are the same movie, reversing who (between Cratchit and Scrooge) decides the other’s life’s work is more meaningful. The Devil Wears Prada decides that Scrooge’s figures are much more important than love or family. I find it a repugnant film.

Everytime my symptoms or requests get dismissed by the medical profession, I think of my dad, who as father of two daughters, told me he wasn't a feminist because "women have enough rights now".

Do you like your hands to stop working when you're not concentrating on them? Do you enjoy not being able to trust your body, especially when you're tired or sick?? Have you tried DYSPRAXIA™

I spend a lot of time thinking about how the tools of the collective far right aligns with the tools used by people exercising abuse tactics. When someone demands that you're not giving enough, the pressure is on to give more, because you want to be a good friend, daughter, colleague, partner.

The lessons from Brazil and Serbia? Don't concede one inch of ground to the far right. Don't appease. Don't triangulate. Don't grovel. Don't say they have "legitimate concerns". Mobilise your base, and fight them with all the democratic means at your disposal.

What I have recognised in my personal life, is that knowing when to stop offering is a gift to yourself. THAT is your boundary. Knowing that no amount of appeasement will make it work. So if anything, concede even LESS.

I think we'd be a much more powerful country if we all understood how abuse and control really works, on an individual level, or a collective level; to me they are one and the same. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO PUSH BACK.

But they're not looking to satisfy their own needs. They want YOU to suffer, so that they have the upper hand. They will take everything from you; whatever you offer, they will want more.

Because offering means you are still answering to them. It means you are still trying to make them feel better. Ergo, it means they still control you. They can still feel like they are stronger than you.

I know absolutely nothing about Lula except that i saw someone share a clip on insta of him in celebration kissing a trans woman politician on the cheek and oh my god is that a radical act for a politician in 2026 so lets fucking go

I'm feeling powered up by the anti-fascist wins in Brazil and Serbia, but I don't know what to do with it. Anyone know of anything I could do to empower the UK's anti-fascist work?

As I've said before, it's only once I became a professor that I realized the entmoot, a meeting that goes on for three days and three nights, was a professor's joke about faculty meetings.

The Lord of the Rings is essentially a series of faculty meetings broken up by several long walks in the countryside.

Stunning Lula victory in Brazil is another sign of how easily we all let ourselves get psy-op-ed by the right's expressions of confidence into, you know, believing them. We really have to get over that habit!

In one day, two politicians - Bolsonaro in Brazil and Vucic in Serbia - with ties to Trump have lost surprise elections thanks to high turnout. The rise of the international far-right is not inevitable.

Man, we don't get a lot of good news these days so priperly stoked about the news from Serbia & Brazil. The Fash International had a terrible night of it & I'm here for it

At one point he had a Whatsapp group with 10 million people in it, coordinating action. Which I didn't even think whatsapp was infrastructurally designed to support. And yes, whatsapp is of course a meta network, but the strategy was to be everywhere, to act redundantly, to be unbannable.
