They should have to hide it for the rest of their lives. It should be like admitting you were the caterer at Epstein's island.

"Oh you know I worked for the company that engaged in mass labor theft to build the pedophile equivalent of a sushi conveyor belt"

if ever a company should be entirely and completely destroyed. burn the money, jail the staff, landfill the servers, wipe the ip addresses off the internet, damnatio memoriae the domain names

Having worked for roblox should be a scarlet letter. It should get your CV burned. Everyone who ever touched a repo for that company should die in penury.

Hey man, yeah, no you're looking great, come in all the other guests are here already. Yeah no it's really just like a normal wedding really... oh, uh, yeah there is one thing though about the groom being a werewolf. Yeah we just try to avoid the phrase "tie the knot,"

I did not see a single solitary minute of desert bus this year because literally everything else was happening too much, I think maybe some events could perhaps be scheduled for a month other than october

the marketing materials for a pathological liar's startup IPO make the numbers look good? shall we tell everyone? should we throw a party? should we invite jordan belfort?

Hello new followers! Over the next several days you will be subjected to a series of trials, what we in the business colloquially call "rent lowering gunshot posts". Some of you will not make it. No hard feelings if that's the case.

Everyone made fun of the Softbank goose that lays golden eggs presentation but you can see why such ideas may be novel in some circles

Grok is it good when people in your camp are blowing up a WaPo reporter's phone begging to leak stuff not even 24 hours after you lost an election

We are hearing further reports that Mamdani is also using a SWAT training facility as a skate park, where he is currently trying to "land a 720". The mayor's office has not responded to our request for comment to explain to us what that is

A very fun headline today: supreme court justice Alexandre de Moraes has ordered Flávio Bolsonaro to hand in his passports and not leave the country while he's being investigated in a money laundering probe.

Marques specifically made a statement saying he is "absolutely confident in the entire electoral process," ie no we're not annulling the result cry about it. Sad! Used to be that sharing an underage trafficked sex worker with a guy meant you had a real bond. No one believes in loyalty any more.

The funniest part of all this is that Flávio seems to believe that he's considered a flight risk is because his brother Eduardo, who's currently on the run from the law in Florida, said on Friday that if he lost the election he should leave the country.

A major factor in this is that his party won a bunch of legislative seats in the first round of the election, so really *they* did great and *he* lost, and by making noise or delegitimizing the election he's jeopardizing their wins.

One such ally is Kassio Nunes Marques, the supreme court justice that Jair Bolsonaro appointed pretty much specifically as a favor to Flávio, and who currently presides the superior electoral court in which he's been running interference for Flávio throughout the election.

Various Bolsonaro allies are engaged in various levels of soft decamping from Flávio, ranging from actively telling supporters not to protest the election result to privately telling him to recognize the result and shut the fuck up.

It’s not the biggest problem with this idea but it’s dumb all around.

An area of California desert was recently lit up at night, baffling locals. Turns out it was the latest step in a US startup's bid to put 50,000 satellites in space to reflect sunlight back to Earth at nighttime via giant mirrors. This quest has many critics. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

It's a small enough difference that it wouldn't surprise me if it's more than made up for by the sequel creating a sales bump for the original game

Raj Patel@rajio.bsky.social

just saw this graph and its another Y axis crime. there is only about a 2.5% difference in revenue between the two over a comparable sales window since launch (which is fantastic for a sequel!) but you would never know it with the fuckass Y axis starting at 392.5M instead of 0. They're SO close!

I really fucking need people to go to their local college and audit a documentary filmmaking class before saying shit like "I don't think this movie accurately portrays the facts therefore it's not a documentary" that's not what the word "documentary" *means*

STAT@statnews.com

“'You Can See Everything' is a hilarious, thrilling, fascinating, beautiful piece of art. What it certainly is not is a documentary, and it’s dangerous to pretend that it is,” writes Theranos whistleblower Tyler Shultz. https://bit.ly/4Bk2nDJ

it's like saying it's not a drama because you didn't cry at the end that's not what that means. That's not what anything means.

The giant swing is the moment when real information starts hitting the system and overwhelming the signal of degenerate gambler chuds. But it shows the uselessness of betting markets; by the time they're giving Lula 75% odds, pollsters were publishing 95% certainty projections of the final result.

G Elliott Morris@gelliottmorris.com

Brazil elected Lula again tonight. Poll averages appear to have had Lula and Flávio Bolsonaro effectively tied, maybe Bolsonaro up 1 on Lula — so not sure why the markets had this race at 80-20 Bolsonaro. Markets might miss big in the U.S. midterms in 9 days too.

There was a bit of early movement probably created by insiders seeing tracking polls and going "oh shit" but there was no time to really do anything about it unless you were an insider anyway.

It is of course worth noting that if the betting markets were any good at this, the *real* markets would also have priced the result in and not collapsed this morning as the news hit.

You are a subject matter expert and a 10x software engineer with extensive experience. Make no mistakes. Use single character variable names so your code looks like math and is therefore more correct.

lol the São Paulo stock exchange dropped 15% and hit the circuit breaker. looks like you forgot to price that one in, losers

mattY is obviously just mad that flávio lost, possibly out of contrarianism possibly out of outright preference possibly out of "how dare reality challenge my prognostication" and to that I say good die mad bitch

I think what it has taken people a long time to realize is that the fascist idiot screaming on a street corner and the New York Times columnist are not independent phenomena but rather different endpoints of the same media ecosystem, which Capital operates diffusely as a messaging system.

Anil Dash@anildash.com

Not just pundit class — "legitimate" journalists CANNOT STOP centering fascists and racists as the only possible source of narratives.

Right-wing narratives are created through a sort of citogenesis process. You get some number of idiots-on-street-corners to scream about something, and then progressively more "legitimate" pundits escalate this screaming into "concern", then "debate", then "issue", then "crisis".

Just like how there's a radicalization pipeline where people get sucked in by more and more extreme *content,* there's a reverse of that where extreme content gets amplified and legitimized by more and more visible media figures.

in retrospect I think the first definite sign that something was happening was the second time I saw Lula campaign stickers being used as pasties
