the routine, pay for play pardons are all by themselves one of the worst corruption scandals in american history!

Don Moynihan@donmoyn.bsky.social

My brain cannot process this level of corruption. She was being paid $50 million to engineer a pardon from Trump *while working at the Justice Department* as a "Special Government Employee." And it worked. He got the pardon, and she got the money. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/20/u...

This is pure speculation bordering on conspiracy, but like I obviously want to know what, if any, involvement the NFL itself had in the starting QB of one of the teams in their big, marquee London game getting medically cleared to play despite not getting cleared to sleep.

In early 2025, I assumed the Trump regime would delete the Department of Justice’s press releases and other statements related to more than 1,000 Jan. 6 cases. So I downloaded them. We’ve now made them available to the public with a search tool. They can’t erase history. jan6memoryproject.org

Beyond matters of taste and decency and whether or not you even believe in the death penalty due to moral reasons, livestreaming the execution of Nidal Hasan is a dumb idea because you're giving him his moment of public martyrdom.

Maybe after an extended lockout the MLB will find a way for a mid-market team like the New York Yankees to compete with a major market juggernaut like the Tampa Bay Rays.

Should not be forgotten that Cam Jurgens played through a back injury that later required surgery in the NFC Championship Game and the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX win. Valiant effort.

In this house we respect Cam Jurgens. He completely put his body on the line for a Super Bowl. Hope he can get healthy and turn things around.

The Eagles are trading Cam Jurgens and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Ravens in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick and 2028 second-round pick, the team announced on Wednesday. Get live updates: www.inquirer.com/eagles/live/...

These Republicans are scum. Reminder that they are attempting to ruin Jack Smith's life — prosecute him for perjury! — only because he did his job as a public servant with integrity.

Sahil Kapur@sahilkapur.bsky.social

A phenomenal moment in the Senate. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., claims he has evidence Jack Smith went to a HAWKS game in Atlanta. Smith denies it. Schmitt declares he has busted Jack Smith for perjury. Smith, vexed, says he went to HAWKEYES game in Maryland. WATCH IN FULL, UNINTERRUPTED

Derrick Henry's Rushing Yards Over Expected since turning 30: 2024: 562 (1st) 2025: 320 (2nd) 2026: 30 (2nd) Source: Next Gen Stats

Derrik Klassen@qbklass.bsky.social

There are four seasons in NFL history where a player was 32 years or older and ran for 1200 yards. They’re all either Walter Payton or John Riggins. Think Derrick Henry is going to clear that mark with ease this season.

Some people have not spent considerable time in the comment section of a Phillies blog in the mid-2000s arguing with someone named "Davthom" about backup catcher Chris Coste and it shows.

It's because sports posters almost unanimously are veterans of the forum wars. People who didn't come up through message boards are to a poster too hysterical.

Maybe the Packers should look into emulating this impressive ground attack.

The Houthi-aligned Bani Hashish tribes are massing in preparation to “liberate” the remaining Yemeni territory outside Houthi control. It’s a sea of Toyotas with mounted machine guns. I think this is what we should mean when we say Toyotathon from now on.

It's an ethnic cleansing campaign, and was never about crime. If anything, pulls resources from fighting crime, and increased crime due to crimes by ICE officers. Also, this is NY Times at its best: highlighting an important issue up top, drawing attention to it, and including a useful data visual.
