told my 11yo to go find something to do that’s not on a screen. he’s currently just outside the door to my home office holding a smart speaker that’s blasting “the song that never ends”

The POV editing structure in the pursuit sequence in William Friedkin's The French Connection (1971) reveals its cognitive basis. The shots of Doyle's strained face gain meaning from POV shots of the traffic ahead, causing the viewer to infer his mental states.

It’s women’s history month; here are my 100 favourite films directed by women. Most prominent directors: Claire Denis, Lynne Ramsey & Kelly Reichardt. Celine Sciamma, Kathryn Bigelow, Julia Ducournau, Andrea Arnold and Joanna Hogg have three entries each. Some glorious work here. Cinema!

I am an AI skeptic, but I figured I'd see what the hype was around #openclaw. Installed it on an isolated VM / isolated VLAN with internet access. Trying to plan a vacation this summer. My assistant told me to "just google it." #ai #hype #openclaw #winning #tech

Criterion Closet but you have to pick from b-movies and trash cinema. I want someone famous telling me everyone should watch a Neil Breen movie. #movies #flim #filmsky

Someone needs to do a video mashup of The House Full of Dynamite and War of the Worlds (2025). Those movies should be one. #movies #shakycam #icecube #ocatc

Kudos Bars (1986-2017): A line of chocolate-covered chewy granola bars, marketed as a healthier snack for kids, despite ostensibly being candy bars. Available in flavors like chocolate chip, peanut butter, cookies n creme, and many more. then eventually actual candy variants like Snickers and M&Ms.

My dental hygienist asked me if I had holiday plans today and I told her I couldn't wait to watch The Last Waltz again. #theband #thanksgiving #scorcesehead

Kieslowski's AMATOR/Camera Buff has been in my head, especially with the news lately. A good watch for those worried about censorship. #censorship #1stamendment #kieslowski #cinema #polsku
