watching friends unload a mateba autorevolver into a barrel full of live carp, discarding the empty gun, being handed another from offscreen, repeating until the barrel contains more bullet than fish pulp

feels like everyone (myself included) started going for drinks with the ginseng already in there, but it's getting real fuckin expensive wanna be able to dump one a those into a dirt cheap fountain tea- i could keep a bunch in the car, but, it's not the same

i wonder if some people are thinking 'unregulated gas station supplements' but i'm talking about a thing from the 00s (midwest?), when those were called trucker supplements because they were mostly still only at flying j's and the like these were just tubes of ginseng extract and sugar water

military flyovers for basketball games are pretty common- couple of jets for practice i don't know that i've ever seen a couple V-22 Ospreys thrown in, flying over a residential area, though,

remember the part of the internet bubble that was AOL sending out free trial CDs, to people who had already received dozens of them, in flat metal tins? my mom kept them all, decorated the computer room with em, there's like thirty varieties. i used aol for months on those trials

after a while of seeming to have a lock on valuing expensive items correctly, thrift stores now don't seem to know what 70s/80s electronics should cost- picked up an olivetti logos 43pd calculator for $7, goes for $40-$120 on ebay! otoh, a cheap 70s electronic makeup mirror- $30? ~$12 online

a mid century portable radio is "we are still figuring out what a transistor radio should be like. we still don't know. but people want one" a late century portable radio is a box in any shape from "fun" to "dark grey slab" with a standard set of features and controls that were all p much the same

makes me feel old as hell despite still being younger than most u.s. adults to say this but: i had a lil grey slab one that ran on three AAAs for months, carried it everywhere, a link to the outside world, when video was anchored to a hundred pound appliance and internet was a daily half hour window

remember when there was more inscrutable 60s tech at the thrift store? what looked to 2010 eyes to be the cheapest electric razor on earth, but enveloped in the fanciest leather carrying case i had ever seen for anything little metal cubes, also wrapped in leather, that were AM radios hair curlers

maybe i am just old but the 70s-90s tech seems a lot more scrutable. i think this has to do with us using a lot of the same standards (usb, RJ-type connectors, 1/8" headphone jack, labeled barrel dc supply) for so long, or, it has to do with me being born while andy kaufman was still alive

ok apple 2 might be too much to ask for- but a crappy-looking 8088 garage rig with a bunch of weird, maybe custom or homemade, cards inside? i can see those going for way cheap- keeping my eyes peeled

now- some of this might be because i do not live in a region that really has any computer/scientific supply refurb/resale shops we have a rare Micro Center? but nothing, iirc, that caters to old computer and electronic junk, which is sad to me personally but it just means its at goodwill or savers

estate sales must be glutting thrift shops with 70s/80s gear like how they used to be chock fulla extremely good, sometimes museum-quality, midcentury furniture when i was a young adult ~20yrs ago praying one day i walk in and see a complete apple 2 setup for like $50 or something,

hello would you like to help out a struggling middle aged trans woman enduring the job market dual-barrels of Kansas and this economy? I have to get gasoline and food, $200 of my portion of rent is due in twelve days, and I would like to go see "History of Concrete" this week gofund.me/3c7fcce39
