Hey folks in BERLIN! I'll be in the area from 8-26 November and would love to give a talk about Event Sourcing to your group, meetup, or company (no charge!). Other than 15-19 Nov (I'll be at Agile Testing Days), let me know and see my travel details at: jittertravel.com

Home for a whole 11 days, I'm traveling again: Oct 12-15 - dev2next: TDD Game and Event Sourcing Oct 19-22 - PLoP (near Ottawa): patterns! Nov 8-26 - Agile Testing Days and more (Potsdam/Berlin) Can I talk about Event Sourcing to your group? Ping me! jittertravel.com

Facilitated an "alpha test" of my Event Sourcing from Scratch workshop and the Miro-based simulation was a hit! I still have work to do on interleaving the simulation with the code, but it worked even better than I expected—so many great questions and discussions arose.

I'll be running a "beta test" soon and then will open it up to the public in January. I'll limit attendance at 4-6 people to give everyone proper attention and be able to ensemble on the codebase. #EventSourcing

I'm running a remote "alpha test" of my #EventSourcing workshop and I think it's going well?? Great questions and hopefully participants are getting a deeper understanding and building a mental model of how Event Sourcing works. Day 2 is done and we have yet to look at code!

There are so many stories lately about people who died by suicide after falling into emotionally manipulative patterns with chatbots. We rarely get to hear how the people who loved them are coping after an unimaginable, senseless loss. This is one of their stories: www.404media.co/austin-gordo...

There are already articles circulating trying to rewrite history and say America was great after 9/11 and united and thoughtful and just a reminder that that period was marked by intense and insanely racist hatred, paranoia, and a frothing desire for unhinged violence and oppression.

Like an underrated harm of LLM coding is that it basically starts to strangle actual evolution of software engineering as a field. Why invent better ways of doing things? Why come up with better languages, better abstractions, better tooling?

Comparing “blogging” to “AI Slop” is the type of take that emerges from being obsessed with how people talk about things instead of being interested in what things are.

Hey folks, guess what? I'm speaking on Thursday (3 Sept) in Hamburg (at the Microservices Meetup) about #EventSourcing! I know it's short-notice, but if you're around, come on by and let me share with you my passion on the topic. www.meetup.com/microservic...

Tested an idea I had for teaching aspects of #EventSourcing by having folks role-play as different components (read model, processor) and I think it worked! Thanks to my SoCraTes Germany guinea pigs for participating, I hope it helped you understand things better.

I had the idea from working on an event-sourcing game at SoCraTes UK and with Allard at the Event Modeling conference in Munich. I'll be taking those ideas and continuing to work on them next week at Play4Agile. Can't wait!

Thank you to @ted.dev and his TDD Game for sponsoring SoCraTes UK 2026. Sponsors are vital at keeping the conference running year after year and are much appreciated 🙏🏻 You can find out more at tdd.cards - we loved playing the TDD game.

I unexpectedly find myself with a week (31 Aug-7 Sept) in Germany with nothing to do! I know it's late notice, but if you're in Hamburg, Hannover, Frankfurt, or Cologne and would like me to give a talk at your meetup/company, chat with your team, or meet for food or drinks...

This roundabout takes traffic separation to a whole new level. Located in Houten, a small town, famous for its innovative cycling designs, the layout creates two layers: one for cars and one for bikes. This completely eliminates conflict points with motorised traffic and greatly improves safety.

Looking for input/feedback from Java developers on 2 different topics: 1. Is there interest in a JavaFX workshop/conference/training in Belgium? 2. Is there interest in a gathering with fellow Java developers working on scientific topics (writing java code, not only using 3th party code) #java
