This is excellent political communication

www.tiktok.com/t/ZTDUhaVnd/ Don’t tell me establishment Dems are capable of fixing problems like this. We’ve given them decades to prove they can, and they can’t. Vote for progressives who put people, not donors, in the center of their actions. Vote Nithia Raman!

We love this! This is how we envisioned voters making fast AND informed choices! Some races have unanimous consensus (see top county council example). When that agreement bar drops lower (see bottom justice #5), you can tell immediately that race has nuance and civic debate, even among leftys!

I like this because it shows who is endorsing who as well as what the split is, so if it’s close one way or the other, I can narrow down what races I should spend more time on!

Anyone know the dates for pycon us 2027? I'm sad I missed it but the kids will be a year older next year!

1. The data center boom isn’t a neutral response to public need. It’s a speculative race by Amazon, Google, Meta & Microsoft to consolidate control over AI and extend their monopoly power — while shifting huge costs onto the rest of us. Here's ILSR's guide to what we need to do.

ilsr.orgThe Policies Communities Need to Meet the AI MomentSafeguarding community self-determination and well-being, tackling monopoly power, and building small-scale distributed alternatives are the keys to protecting communities during the data center boom.

So what should happen instead? Go get more money! From the legislature, from voters. Find ways to build affordably. Automated rail, cut and cover, smaller stations, etc. Do it now. Don't gut our rail expansion effort and take away our region's future. As Graham Street shows, delays are forever.

Here's a crazy idea: maybe we shouldn't consider data centers "the future" if that future is being designed by about 10 people with demonstrably hideous ideas and no imagination? Maybe we start by demanding that they meet OUR standards?

seattletimes.comData centers make sense only if we do them right | Op-EDWith our people-friendly government and a proud tradition of renewable energy, Seattle is well-placed to show that siting data centers can be done differently.

Over a couple generations, the neighborhood pattern will resemble the perimeter block with courtyard interiors that many people really appreciate. Seattle is going to grow. Why not set the zoning rules so we incentivize the kinds of urban housing that are super popular

#waleg folks (like @juliareedwa.bsky.social ) what software would help the leg process and advocacy? I've got wa-law.org and wonder how it could better help. I'm currently digging into why so many folks signed in con on the millionaires tax.

After much deliberation and a grueling interview process, I’m pleased to announce that I’ve accepted a new job and will not need any financial support from my parents to cover the high costs of childcare going forward. #AmericanDream #ThisIsYourCity

Many people think this race could be decided by only a handful of votes (here’s former Seattle mayor Greg Nickels). Have YOU checked to make sure that yours was counted? Check our link in bio to check on your vote with King County elections!

I can’t believe that after eight months of campaigning, we’re finally just two days from election day. As frightening as these times are, I’ve never been more hopeful about the future of our city. This has never been about me — this is about all of us.

Very important to not fall for the feigned helplessness of neoliberals in control of blue state governments: Fully administering food stamps would cost Washington at most 1% of its entire budget, and I have to believe it’d be even less for New York, California, Illinois, et al.

It kind of boggles my mind that Gov. Ferguson hasn’t done this yet? Seems like a very easy call to be able to free up other funds to support SNAP recipients.
