Every day we’re seeing the consequences of advertisers failing to fix this: Rising racist attacks, the toxic resurgence of misogyny among young men, an uptick in transphobic hate crime, charity volunteers being harassed simply for doing their jobs. /3 www.insidetrack.org.uk/releases/adh...

This went on for the rest of the full hour, at which point the BBC apologised for having to go to the weather and urged viewers to follow continuing live coverage on iPlayer. Forty-one minutes of unfiltered, unchallenged propaganda by a far right party with 8 MPs, now third in the polls. Discuss.
BBC News just interrupted its coverage to go, live, to Nigel Farage - a man with no contitutional standing in our setup - responding to the budget - a document which nobody has seen yet. WHY

Saw it. Cinema packed with people of all ages. Lots of laughs: these guys really know what they're doing. Definitely not one of those disappointing TV spin-offs. Ideal half-term fare, I'd say.

Thatcher too.
UK and Norway won nature's lottery in 1970 - found oil/gas in the North Sea. UK squandered wealth, appeased corporations. Norway levied 78% tax, took direct stake in companies. Norway now has $1.8 trillion sovereign fund. UK has public finance crisis. UK Govts still appeasing corporations/rich.

A study of 10,000 crashes has found that, for every 10cm of vehicle height, the odds of a pedestrian death rise by 11%. "Big cars have the momentum," say the researchers, "and without any change in policy, the momentum is not going to go away." “Right now, there is no disincentive to buy big.”
