A bad week for Trump and co?

My least favourite YouTube comment is "you've forgotten about..." or "you missed out..." Did I forget? Or did I just not include it because not every 3 minute sketch can be about everything? Very niche rant! 😀

What’s that you say? Liz has a new book out which even the Telegraph is saying is even more unhinged than the last one? Wonderful, I’ll post this then.

Matt explaining the news better than the actual news

Excellent 👏👏

Came for Jonathon Goodenough, but stayed for the final Trussline.

Thanks to everyone who braved the storms to catch Ghosts this weekend. You’ve officially made it the number one movie in the UK!

The cursed ratio turns

I can’t stress enough how good this film is. If you’re a fan of the series you will love it. If you’ve never seen the show, binge it on iPlayer first then get yourself to the cinema!

Terrible day for arseholes across the world. I imagine Trump will react calmly and diplomatically.

Just a reminder for Elon et al

You don’t fight fascists by pretending their ‘concerns’ are ‘legitimate’.

Unbelievable cricket scores today. Congratulations to South Africa and Sri Lanka and what on earth happened to England (again)!?

There are two comedy films based on British TV shows coming out this weekend. I would heartily recommend Ghosts. I saw an early screening and it’s really good - if you liked the show then you will love this. And there’s another film coming out which I haven’t seen. But I don’t think it looks great.

Just saw @rosieisaholt.bsky.social’s excellent tour show at @lsqtheatre.bsky.social. Very funny, sharp and showing off an impressive number of voices! Loads of dates left - get yourself along to one… rosieholt.co.uk

In a bit of a stressful week the Australian cricket score did cheer me up a little… (although not the England ODI performance)

For a while I made Christmas video messages for people (usually as Geoffrey Geoff-Geoffrey) which were a lot of fun and quite popular. For various reasons I haven’t been able to do them for a couple of years but I think I’ll have time this year if anyone is interested? ko-fi.com/mattgreencom...

My gigs are very popular with people who have never been to a gig and have no intention of going to a gig

is this good

Keep pushing this guys. The people who love this station the most probably aren't chronically online like we are so we need to spread this about a bit you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/sa...

This photo neatly sums up the two possible reactions to Trump these days. Closing your eyes and pretending it's not happening, or staring with undisguised horror.

🚨NEW EPISODE 🚨 Political rhetoric is getting more violent. Are they just softening us up for the real thing? 🚨 With @rmcunliffe.bsky.social @rafaelbehr.bsky.social and @mattgreencomedy.com 🚨 Listen: linktr.ee/ohgodwhatnow...

The @ohgodwhatnow.bsky.social ep that's out tomorrow on "The politics of violence" is well worth a listen. It deals seriously with some chewy topics. Sobering stuff. All three contributors on fine form. Thanks @mattgreencomedy.com @rafaelbehr.bsky.social @rmcunliffe.bsky.social

Looking forward to Darren Grimes' Grime show

If I had a Tim Minchin I'd go back and turn off autocorrect.

This ITV doc about Reform is basically a feature length parade of pathetic white men being racist and/or misogynistic and expressing violent fantasies against Muslims and other minorities. The sheer number of examples was damning. It should destroy their support. It probably won't.

Watching ITV now

How US politics seems to non Americans: Democratic candidate: a stirring, intelligent orator, a deeply religious family man and devoted public servant. Republican candidate: convicted fraudster, multiple adulterer and rubbish speaker who trades in blatant lies and outright bigotry Result: toss up

“What fills us with dread is the crushing weakness of our politics against the massive stakes of our times” I don’t think I’ve ever heard a better summary.

It is my birthday. My age has departed the realm of normal mathematics and reached the level at which it requires special scientific notation to write out. If you wish to show your appreciation for the fact I have not yet expired, here is 25% off the newsletter.

And here’s the trailer for BEING HEUMANN. In cinemas Nov 6, streaming on AppleTV Nov 13. I saw it last night at the London Film Festival & it’s a triumph.

I worked as a temp in some kind of warehouse for lorry drivers (still no idea what it actually did). I got a casting on day 1 so I had to take a very long lunch break. I was not asked back for day 2

Utterly brilliant 🤩

📢 NEW EPISODE 📢 Will the age of Trollitics ever end? 💩What government by shitpost means with @rmcunliffe.bsky.social @jonnelledge.bsky.social @jasonhazeley.bsky.social & @nndroid.bsky.social 📳 LISTEN linktr.ee/ohgodwhatnow...

The itv report on Reform contains this warning: “This report contains racist and offensive language.” Then they bleep it all out and asterisk it out in the written report. Which on one level I understand, but also if you’re going to share it, actually share it. Make it explicit. No euphemisms.

This is hilarious
