Even though Jason Arday has been cleared of plagiarism, the vindication feels painfully late, after suspicion and the damage have already taken their toll. His case echoes a troubling pattern. Black people’s knowledge and accomplishments are ALWAYSmet with doubt, as though their success must have

I've had my own thoughts on how I would do a Korra series and I do like Mr. Radney's thoughts on what he'd do, even though that'd be different from how I'd do things. How I'd write the Korra series if getting 3 seasons from the get-go... here are a few of my thoughts:

Let me hasten to add "they're just saying this, but don't mean that" is something that was said repeatedly about the current sitting president when marginalized folks rightly pointed out how incredibly evil the things he said were.

I’m sick of takes like “dumb trans people don’t understand that people like Talarico and Peltola are only claiming to oppose trans rights to get moderate votes.” Let’s say that’s true. I don’t think it’s a given, but let’s treat it as one. You’d never expect any other group to be okay with that!

oh well, maybe next time

Dear Tim Sweeney, you could learn a thing or two from the Xbox exec who posted so bad that he had to delete his account aftermath.site/xbox-brandon-s...

Which is to say: while well-meaning, please be mindful of the things you're saying to people who are reasonably upset and other things and also desperately trying to figure out wtf to do next.

Bruno Dies@brunodias.dev

please stop replying to game devs saying things like "well look on the bright side those laid off devs can start their own indie studios now" because eventually one of us is going to snap and "WITH WHAT FUCKING MONEY" would be a shitty last thing to hear before you die

My deepest condolences to everyone caught in the Bioware closures and layoffs. Y'all truly, truly deserved better. Always did. I'm sorry that you weren't treated with the respect you deserve, and I'm thankful for what you were able to accomplish. Man, this sucks hard.

Okay so Steam Next Fest has a lot of AI slop on it. Crazy idea here but what if we took the people who already go through and find good games to try, and we gave them money for doing it. Like pay the people who find good things. Some kind of person who curates. For money.

But if feels like #Twitch is looking for a "doomscroll" feature SO BAD, which seems to defeat the purpose of the site which is *live streaming*. It's not like Instagram or YouTube where I'm looking for funny little pre-recorded stunts or clipped and edited down podcast/stream moments.

Twitch is renaming the Stories function to Recaps. Recaps will now be automatically generated using signals to find high-quality moments, as well as clips you or your editors make. You can remove Clips from Recaps. Recaps will autoplay in the mobile live feed.

I decided to have a look and verify whether or not this was the case. It's worse.

Dear #metalheads and #metal loving folks. Remember that band leader from #Disturbed signed missiles to be used against Palestine, did a vide reinforcim his #Zionist views and all the band mates did were a wet fart apology. #DavidDraiman supports genocide and so his band whom did not do any real shit

I'm seeing more comments like this on other food channels. Notably ones like America's Test Kitchen, often the point is that they tried something 10 different ways to come up with their result. Commenter: Never do this, do other thing instead. Buddy… do you think they didn't test that, too?

The comments were the classic example of, "This video is not aimed at me and therefore I have to let them know that." None of them were ridiculous, but a common thread was, "Nope, I ain't doing this." Which, you know, fine! But then clearly this video was not for you. Swipe past it.

you can just say "i don't like the music really" instead of saying "the music sucks". hell, even though i mixed classic themes into my music selection for each character i didn't turn off their sf6 themes entirely. if you do, no shame to you. i don't need people to love sf6's music but GOD. >>

petty vent, but if i hear someone say sf6 music sucks or only got better with the dlc one more time, i might flip my shit. i get it. it's not the classic stuff. even past that, some of it may not hit for you the same way, and i get it. but we can stop the cap. the ost is literally Fine. >>

Today === Person: "Someone said the death of comedy is the death of a nation and I believe it. Everything now a days is Trump is bad or white people are terrible and it's like wow okay what a novel idea..." Me: "Oh? You didn't seem like one for novelty." /1

I've experienced this feeling but mostly in the form of a question. That question is: "Who would you even be in a relationship with?" Seriously, you're declaring long-term commitment and allegiance to someone who is fully a stranger to you (that's me, btw). Why?/1

I will hasten to add a small caveat: there are some things about our development that takes relationships (of all kinds, mind you) to surface so we can then deal with them and process and all of that. Being in a relationship isn't meant to fix things you need to deal with individually, BUT /2

It does give light and air to the parts of us that only emerge in the context of connection to other people; it's real easy to feel like you're a healed, grounded, level-headed person until you are then asked to communicate your needs, give grace (with discernment), apologize, etc.

It seems people just rush into the status of a thing and hope that reality doesn't rock their shit when it catches up later. That makes no sense to me. And people often find it off-putting when I point that out. It makes me wonder in turn what that does for you and those answers are... 😬😬😬 /😬

Every time i read some conservative christian write "ooh, those lefties hate me for my faith" I have to laugh. Like, I am openly and visibly and loudly religious and even the most turbo anti-theists are largely fine with me. They don't hate you for your faith, they hate you cause you're an asshole.

The way someone was in this meeting on PTO with their very sweet baby and apologizing for that being a thing... I told that sweet lady that she's absolutely allowed to have her baby — who was very quiet the entire time — at this meeting without apologizing. We gotta let people be human.

This is why those moments in Sinners exist.

I’ve lived long enough to know that the forest never asks permission before it changes. The leaves loosen their hold, the streams grow hard beneath the frost, and the wind comes prowling through the pines with winter in its teeth.Change arrives whether we welcome it or not.
