Wellllll production just got a lot more expensive. 🙃 My logic board on my laptop is now fried (again; this is the second time this has happened to me). I have 71% battery left until this thing is an expensive paperweight. At least I have time to back up a few things.

We could use your opinion on something, so please leave a comment if you're interested in helping out: If you were playing a visual novel, would you find it weird/off if all the characters were voiced but the narrator wasn't? Or would you feel that it's weird/off to NOT have narration voiced?

I am doing a talk at BLFC next month called "Marketing for Furry Creators" (12pm Weds 10/14) where I will de-mystify dirty words like brand, funnel, lead magnet, mailing list, and segmentation for creators trying to make all or part of a living income from their creations.

I spent hours and hours on a CG sequence putting cinematic touches on it. This mini cutscene will only last about 12-15 seconds and will have taken a collective (across the entire team) 60 hours for that little amount of screen time. It's 100% worth the effort for the details, though! #FVN #FurryVN

When Sweet Leaves was just a comic, writing conflicts was much easier than with long form prose and dialogue found in a VN. Some of the scenes in episode 2 are just... ouch. They're very hard to write because I have to hurt my babies and hurt them deeper than I ever have before. x_x

Visiting Minnesota for the state fair, and went to a friend’s backyard family BBQ. As I consider voice acting for the VN, I can’t help but think, “god damn is this the best accent dontcha know, but where am I going to find 12 actors who can do it convincingly”

We’re looking at potentially adding full voice acting to the novel (including narration). A couple questions - 1. If you did not read the VN, would it being fully voice acting get you to give it a try? 2. If you DID read the novel, do you feel that voice acting would improve the experience?

It’s crazy we nearly never got to see Coyote vs. Acme. The film’s genuinely incredible and I’m glad people spoke up and fought to save it - please go see it! It’s hilarious and has an unexpected amount of heart to it.

When in the middle of a long development cycle, I'm not totally sure how to keep active on social media. I'm so heads down in my many duties for the VN that it's not something I have time to keep on top of very well. I very much miss sharing content with everyone.

Discovered that there's a few people who recorded playthroughs of the VN on Bilibili (Chinese version of YouTube). The comments were so nice. 😭 Getting very excited to be able to do localization for episodes 1 + 2 to be able to share it with a larger audience!

Our novel has been streamed/recorded by a few different people now, and getting to watch these has been such an incredible joy for the entire team (we all watch them). Getting to see how a reader and their audience react live to the stories and characters is what we live for. ❤️

Hey everyone! Bit of a major change for myself here that I wanted to inform everyone about. Colson, the character, hasn't represented me for years now, but I was still using him for personal representation. This lead to others assuming Colson was a self-insert and/or that he was me; he's not.

Backgrounds can be really powerful mood setters but also inform a lot about the characters who inhabit that space. The cardinal rule we follow when creating backgrounds is to include at least 3 elements which support that character's backstory and/or traits. Background art @reothesnep.bsky.social!
