Joaquín Baldwin

🧵 1/8 - Hi! I'm a queer epic fantasy author, writer of the Noss Saga. Other than writing and illustrating my novels, I do a lot of other art, including cinematography at Disney animation (Zootopia, Frozen, Moana, etc). Follow this pinned thread to see the kinds of work I do. ⬇️

Is highland capybara a thing?

Last few hours for this before the prices reset! Get books!

I finally got a good Milky Way cosplay photo. It includes a massive waterfall illuminated only by starlight. I had to stand still for 30 seconds with a chasm by my side. #Cosplay #NossSaga

(replaced the capsaicin in the spray cans with bear pheromones)

I like to draw book illustrations For the “Noss Saga”

Hey do you like fantasy epics? Massive world building? LGBTQ representation? And a shit ton of TF? Boy do i have a fantasy series for you

Good day. Brunch with a good latte. Long walk through the California Botanic Garden (huge place, all native plants!). Watched Wildwood (go see it!). Lula won. 🖕 Bolsonaro. Stunning moonrise.

It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

I've been too fucked to promote the SPFBO finalist sale, but my SPFBO finalist book, The Thirteenth Hour, is currently on sale for 1.99 on Amazon and Kobo... for the next day 🤣 mlwangbooks.com/spfbo-finali... Also happy to recommend other books in the sale!

It's the perfect time to dive into the Noss Saga my boys and gals. A small price for a great adventure. With steamy moments. And epicness. And evilness. And furry boys.

Oh I've only gotten through the first book so far, but I'm gonna highly recommend these folks. 👀

📚 Fantasy book sale, this weekend only! The first three ebooks of the Noss Saga are on sale at joaquinbaldwin.com and in Amazon. And tons more award-nominated fantasy books are discounted. Check out the full list at: mlwangbooks.com/spfbo-finali...

I'm not much of a reader but I really, really enjoy this series! I highly recommend it if a queer fantasy story with fantastic world building sounds like something for you!

Here's Alaia! I tried different colors for her but ochre felt just right. Almost went with lavender, but that ended up feeling a bit too close to jeans, too modern. #NossSaga #Illustration

here it is: the biggest single piece of art I’ve ever made 😳 Inspired by eyewitness book ecosystem cutaways, it’s sort of uh a psychological ecosystem of metaphorfish as one does

God I am so fucking angry Queer folks, tell your stories. Mainstream, independent, comics, zines, games, shorts, novels, film, whatever your medium whatever your genre There are increasingly fewer platforms for them, so it is more important than ever to make sure they get out into the world

Can confirm, sapphic, adorable and HOT 😘

How long till AI finds a critical problem, then provides a secretly developed critical patch, and that patch has a backdoor that only the owners of that AI system know about?

Here we have Jiara! She's a beast. The sapphic storyline in the Noss Saga doesn't pick up till books 2 and 3, but it only gets better from there. #NossSaga #Illustration

The penultimate volume of Noss Saga is almost here! What mysteries to the avian dome have to offer? What horrors does the Red Stag have left to inflict upon the planet? Will Kulak hiss like the floppa he is? Brace yourself. The birds are coming.

@joabaldwin.com do we get a prize for the most copies bought?! (Doubt we have the most but we have a lot)

Oh, the way my life changed when I accepted this... This sentence resonated a lot with me, because man, once I accepted it, my life truly bloomed leaving behind any kind of "you should do and act like what society expects from you" @joabaldwin.com kudos, Mr. Baldwin

At last, Noss Saga, now with birb! Its as long as the picture implies and still manages to make you wish it was longer. If you haven't yet, definitely check this series out.

I can confirm this one is really good!

This animated short is so dang cute and I wasn’t crying, it was just something in my eye.

Saw that the #BirdOfTheDay theme is #Dawn so I thought I'd share these violet-green swallows I spotted during a Mono Lake sunrise. #Photography 🪶

The Alf one was more targeted, but this is the one I'm the proudest of.
