NPM supports switching from Authenticator App (TOTP) based 2FA to more phishing resistant WebAuthn based 2FA. Adding a WebAuthn security key and disabling the Authenticator App is a pretty quick process. For example Apple Touch ID & Windows Hello work! Physical keys work too, but aren't required.

Did you know your MacBook has a sensor that knows the exact angle of the screen hinge? Itโ€™s not exposed as a public API, but I figured out a way to read it and make it sound like an old wooden door.

life pro tip: you can get free LLM API access by finding people crashing out in Claude Code issues, then looking at network requests from their vibe-coded websites!

Google developer #1: "That's it. Our search engine is simple, efficient, and reliable. It's perfect. We're done." Google developer #2, presumably: "But wouldn't it be *more* perfect if the first search result was always a robot who mansplained your search results to you incorrectly?"

Today, we're announcing our first hosted infrastructure product: pyx, a Python-native package registry. We think of pyx as an optimized backend for uv: itโ€™s a package registry, but it also solves problems that go beyond the scope of a traditional "package registry".

I'm looking for peer reviews so I can streamline the development pipeline. I intend to help beginners get familiar with web development and also, help designers with research and introspection via this tool.

I got tired of using nifty css and js tricks for debugging, thought I should plug them all one-by-one in an extension and release it for eveyone. If you're a web dev or designer this might be for you โœŒ๏ธ (1/3)

My motivation in brief for doing this - 1. Make it easy for designers, or even product and sdet peeps to reason about the layout like you would in a prototyping tool like Figma, or Adobe XD. 2. For indie devs, make last mile polishing experience more streamlined. (2/3)

Been using jj VCS for a while now, and I love how I can move my changes across the commit tree. My commit history is much cleaner and succinct, and it's a time saver for code reviews :) Highly recommend! #jj #vcs

Graphite is today's #1 trending repository on GitHub, and has just surpassed 15,000โญ! We have never been more excited to shake up the scene for 2D content creation tools and bring high-quality #opensource design software into the hands of artistsโ€” just as #Blender did for 3D.

Many packages request funding by printing message with postinstall scripts. What if instead of requesting funding we would promote sponsors? After all, we want companies to sponsor open source projects as they are the ones that make profit from it.
