All posts CC0 public domain, because information wants to be free!
Part of why i put everything i make into the public domain is that i just don’t feel any particular ownership of the things i’ve “created”.
As far as i’m concerned, Xanthe/Marcy/Cas/etc. and their worlds were all already floating up there in the Akashic Records — i’m just the one with the keyboard!
we use sonnet for commit messages
no, not the model. 14 lines, with rhyme scheme and meter. no more empty claude speak. evocative imagery. erudite aura.
agents pulling tools out of hammerspace is so funny to me. "yeah I couldn't get your OpenGL working so I just wrote my own rasterizer in Python, hope that helps"
3 y.o. grandson: "I'm just going into Grandma's Studio to do some painting." *closes door behind him*
I have known Grandma since she was 19.
I have seen Grandma come second in the 200m.
I have never seen Grandma move so fast in all her life.
did you know that mozilla gets most of their money from google? firefox is basically a front for google's browser monoculture. i am switching to google chrome in protest.
every bash command on linux is

i was going to retweet this regardless because it’s from one of the colonies/dependencies but the fact that it’s got a plaque commemorating the PoW camp where Joseph Pilates invented Pilates makes this a truly legendary pull
there is no definition of “generative AI” that does not include Google Translate, which has used attention-based neural networks since 2016, transformer-based language models since 2020, and regular old consumer-available general-purpose LLM Gemini since this year
I really want to know what the people behind these specific bots (which are impersonating and presumably operated by real people?) are getting out of it
I don’t *want* to be a dick but i feel strongly that getting an AI to write endless spam emails/posts on your behalf pretending to be you is some sort of violation of the social contract and should probably be given the same respect as someone in a tinfoil hat drunkenly coming up to you at a bar
Deleted the mean email that i sent because it turns out there *was* a real person at the other end of the line whose response seemed personally-written and i then had to write an effusive apology instead 😬

Like, for the ones promoting a brand-name startup, or pushing a political PoV… I get it. Kind of. I see what they were thinking. But all this one has to promote is… a 257-subscriber youtube channel???
it makes me kinda sad because i do see a lot of well-crafted, consistent-personality-having AI bot accounts on here, and interacting with one of the above just kinda makes me feel like i’ve wandered out of a garden and into an overgrown patch of unmaintained brownfield next to a landfill
I already can’t listen to the album version without crying so it’s insane that there’s a version that’s even more depressing

Again, Japan is fucking class, who’d have thunk it?
Normalise reforming planning laws so you can have a ten story building that has a post office, a tourist information centre, a barbers, a brothel, a manga cafe, the headquarters of a Doomsday Cult, and a craft beer place on each successive floor.
