Listening to a report about Google chopping down a quarter of a million trees in Finland to build a data centre while washing out yoghurt pots for the recycling

100 years from now, scholars will still be getting into heated, relationship-destroying debates over whether elon musk is This Way because he was bullied too much as a child, or not bullied enough.

It's a blatant display of intellectual dishonesty: he claims to believe that "AI" is the future of gaming development and it should be embraced, but he also seems to think its use should be a matter of privacy and not to be broadcasted to customers. Such an intolerable dipshit.

The sad irony is that there actually have been. I keep saying technologies like Zigbee and Matter would have taken off like a rocket had not the investment players only been interest in iPhone-like returns. Most people don't even know what Zigbee and Matter are.

The "There hasn't been a major tech innovation since the smartphone" crowd really just keeps winning.

Okay imagine setting up smart home devices in a way that's even easier than Bluetooth. And like Bluetooth, it's both short-range and not on the same signal network as WiFi. That make it safer, and the devices only have whatever access to the internet you decide to allow it. That's Zigbee.

I'll be real. I have never heard of either one.

Glad the Dems finally got something out condemning it. But if there were 1 or 2 who didn't sign onto this I could believe there was a medical or family emergency. 49 missing names feels like a problem.

In fact I will say the Earnest and Pious Charismatic Ethnic Minority political figure (AOC, Mamdani, El-Sayed) has been a pretty good bet for the American left so far, whereas the Disaffected Gruff White Guy Showcasing True Masculinity (Fetterman, Platner) has been a worse bet. Just an observation.

Yeah start insinuating he has morning chai rather than coffee, say that he knocks things for 6 rather than hits a home run, allege that he is generally a clean living good boy who loves his mother and prays every Friday (pejorative).

Is it weird that among all the terrible vibes in that photograph it's the fucking sweater that's skeeving me out the hardest?

Men's size pants only go up in even number increments, so it fucking sucks to get down to an odd numbered waist size. The size above is too big to wear without a heavily cinched up belt but the size below is still too small to fit into. Maddening.

For the 1st time in US history SCOTUS has more rulings on its shadow docket -- unsigned and with no opinions -- than it has cases where it has heard oral arguments and issued signed rulings. IOW they are hiding their deliberations while stealing our democracy. www.propublica.org/article/supr...

propublica.orgA Troubling Milestone: Most Supreme Court Rulings Are Secretive Votes With Little JustificationProPublica conducted a new analysis that shows the court is deciding more consequential rulings than ever before in largely unsigned orders with little to no explanation.

This report is genuinely overwhelming, in terms of the evidence both against Trump and of a ham-fisted cover-up. Including one instance in which Ghislaine Maxwell was actually about to mention one of Trump's young accusers and Todd Blanche told her to stop talking. The media response is "yawn."

I can't stress enough how counterproductive it is for campaign sites to hit visitors with a donation pop-up they have to close before they can see anything. A week out, most visits to these pages are voters trying to make up their minds.

i am inviting anyone from a legacy media organization to explain to me why the house judiciary dems report on trump’s epstein’s ties and multiple allegations of rape isn’t worthy of extensively reporting on. i’m serious. i want to understand.

When you realize the stock market isn't focused around successful business but about ensuring your investment increases in yield on the basis of its perceived value, it starts to make more sense that the worst companies have the biggest valuations.

I know there's a lot going on but I feel it should probably be more of an above-the-fold story that members of Congress released a thoroughly documented report directly accusing the president of the United States of being a serial rapist.

Literally the first shot of this "historically accurate" Odyssey movie shows a boat that A) Has no steering oar. B) Is under full sail *and* full rowers while entering a cave, presumably to dock inside.

It's funny how the Defenders of Western Civilization really want Odysseus to be this heroic patriarchal figure when he is canonically kind of a dirtbag.
