Being loudly empathetic in your professional life is not going to fix everything in the world, but it is something that you can feel good about doing while working to pay bills during constant societal trauma.

i think of myself as a hobbit of the computer, unbothered by the doings and goings on of push notifications or whatever weird animation is trying to get me engage with a new feature that doesn't matter

This prime real estate used to be occupied by something useful.

This is the actual reason TikTok just absolutely had to be owned by US billionaires.

(THR) - TikTok has banned the entire Musk film account, citing political content that violates its policies. .. raises concerns about Big Tech suppression that the very film seeks to expose.” @thr.com www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/politic...

My phone keyboard should not start prompting me for writing assistance while I'm messaging my partner. These guys have absolutely lost the plot.

I have been dragging my feet on switching to Graphene for some reason, but it is time.

This 33-year-old nurse told the FBI she knew she was “going to set him free” after border patrol agents brought in a man whose face was bloodied and seriously injured. She treated him and helped him escape, and she faces charges now. He got away, and they never relocated him.

If I were teaching at Wife School (adjunct, $3,000 a course) I would teach wifes to let husbands do this bsky.app/profile/luke...

Luke O'Neil@lukeoneil47.bsky.social

Wife doesn't want me throwing random fruit or seeds I'm done eating out into the yard "to see what happens" or "because it's funny." This country no longer respects science.

Democrats created a nationwide healthcare plan based on a Republican plan where people are penalized for not having healthcare, but now people are signing up and not using it, this must be fraud. The reactionary mind is amazing.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Assistant AG for Fraud Colin McDonald: "Apparently 35% of people have never even used their Obamacare account for any health services. That is a statistical impossibility and it's because these are not real people seeking real care. These are fraudsters."

it’s wild that the heritage foundation wrote in text that the assault on trans woman particularly in sports is their first step in their efforts to completely abolish all Title IX protections and liberals still don’t believe it’s about more than trans women in sports

No matter what you think of Hasan this is a great time to see which politicians are incapable of staying on their message. Imagine being asked about a streamer & answering directly instead of bulldozing & talking about what you wanted to talk about on tv anyways

As @brandyjensen.bsky.social once wrote, "Too often these days I find myself in the position of defending someone I think is annoying from someone I know is dangerous." I can work with annoying. I don't have to like them. I can't work with fascists. Democrats should have a laser focus on fascists.

What he's really saying is that blue states pay better wages and are less likely to let you rip off the community you build in. That's it.

I love these trucks. They rule and I want to drive one.

Jerad Walker@jeradwalker.bsky.social

This is the first new US Postal Service truck that I’ve seen in the wild. And dear reader, let me tell you something that doesn’t translate in the photo. They are really tall! This photo doesn’t begin to describe how neat these weird little guys are.

Prices are coming down. Things are gonna change, I can feel it ... Soooooooyyyyyyyyy un perdedorrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

TRUMP: "I should be at 100 percent on the economy" AUDIENCE: 😬

They are always going to call us communists. Point at them, talk about the Trump admin taking large stakes in corporations, and laugh at them.

Bill Corbett@billcorbett.bsky.social

The absolute best way to keep the fascists strong is to run in terror from the lazy, completely predictable shit they say instead of mocking them then punching back 10x harder. nypost.com/2026/08/07/m...

I'll summarize this: Mamdani asked NYers to keep air conditioning at 78 degrees. A wave criticism hit online. A MSNBC broadcast pointed out the US Department of Energy recommends that 78 degree figure. Immediately after, the US Department of Energy deleted 6,000 web pages related to energy saving.

This isn’t even a joke thing for me. Mobile platforms are a closed down technofascist response to computers. The desktop isn’t free of those influences, but they are attenuated and interacting with it makes you experience the full promise of computing. The potential and the freedom.

This is literally why there's a bipartisan effort to remove internet access from young people. It's an attack on queer people, leftists, and anyone who questions authority. They don't want our children finding out that MLK and Frida Kahlo were socialists or that Stonewall was a riot.

Kat Tenbarge@kattenbarge.bsky.social

Having social media access made growing up gay 1 million times easier (I don’t think I would even know I was gay as a teen if it weren’t for social media), but it also made growing up progressive and informed possible. Social media was where I learned about abortion rights, for starters

Could there be a better example of "the trans debate" than 98% of women supporting trans people and then one single lone person voting against them and getting their way regardless. It's all such a fucking sham

TACC@tacc.org.uk

"Forty-nine votes were cast against the new rules, whilst only one vote was cast in their favour", yet still they went ahead with the ban. Clearly, women's opinions do not count!

Trying to think of even a single red city with an adequate airport...

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Faulkner: "Sanctuary cities include Boston, Chicago, Denver, LA, NY, Philadelphia, SF. All of those airports handle 1,100 int'l flights per day. They're not just gonna not fly. They're gonna go to red states and cities. A boon for red states. People will just really hate living in blue states."

Another reminder: if there exists *any* class of people who don't have due process rights, then *nobody* actually has due process rights because the government can always just say you're in that class.
