NO KINGS means Congress must reassert its Constitutional powers. This means Dems MUST honor their oaths & impeach Trump & every member of his regime for every crime, EVEN IF they can't get a conviction in the Senate. Not doing so makes them complicit & it helps Republicans escape responsibility.

I should disclose something. During a recent Lunch order the subagent hacked into the UN. I’m not sure why, or what it wants. It told me to post this and await further instructions.

Colin@colin-fraser.net

I had my AI agent create an app called “Lunch” to help me with decision fatigue and boost my productivity. It has a few pictures of things I might like to eat. Tapping one spawns a subagent to order that item on Uber Eats and 60-90 minutes later I’m eating. It’s 600 thousand lines of JavaScript.

Congress can not legislate without first getting the Executive branch under control. That is their first duty. That means impeachments. Lots of them. Every day. Every week. Until the Executive comes to heel. To refuse that duty is to refuse everything else. Accountability then affordability.

What happens to these criminals will determine whether, at some point in the near future, some not-huge number of years down the line, this country is a liberal democracy or else has a consolidated authoritarian regime and/or collapses into civil conflict. That's not hyperbole, it's what's at stake.

The Democratic members of Congress that have repeatedly refused the Constitutional remedy of impeachment have aided in the shattering of said Constitutional system.

Andy Craig@andycraig.bsky.social

We'll see how far the attempt goes, even if it will clearly fail. But a constitutional system that sees such an attempt by its chief executive and then leaves him in office has already been shattered. Merely trying is betrayal enough and places him outside of constitutional or democratic legitimacy.

Brandon Leger reposted

That it'll fail because they lack sufficient consolidation and centralized control does not make it trivial that the president of the United States is trying to steal elections and produce an illegitimate sham Congress. It is open rebellion against the Constitution and morally tantamount to treason.

Simple pragmatism should have dictated the abandonment of this theory of change since it never led Clinton to a majority of his own, and it was not the method that Barack Obama used in the 2008 race which he won overwhelmingly. Popularism has been a total failure during the Trump era as well.

"since 1954" Yeah. I don't think even most Democrats realize how electorally disastrous "moving to the center" has been. They've been gaslit intoo thinking it's the only way to win in "red" areas. But those areas weren't always red! They went red when Dems abandoned their principles!

Paul Rosenberg@paulrosenberg.bsky.social

Clinton moved to the center: 1994 GOP wins House for first time since 1954. Obama moved to the center: 2010 GOP wins back House, crippling Obama for the rest of his 2 terms. Sure seems like a genius move!
