Poet Stephen Vincent Benét prayer for the Allied Nations, read by FDR on Flag Day, 1942: "We are all of us children of earth — grant us that simple knowledge. If our brothers are oppressed, then we are oppressed. If they hunger, we hunger. If their freedom is taken away, our freedom is not secure."

"Journalists often use the words 'unsubstantiated' or 'uncorroberated' when referring to the allegations victims have levied against powerful men, like Trump. Instead of saying these women’s accounts are not corroborated, maybe it’s time we say they were not investigated in spite of clear patterns."

Say what you will about the DNC but luckily it does not have a committee of James Carvilles issuing shit like this a week before an election.

Will anyone—anyone at all—ask Trump about the rape allegations published in an official report by the House Judiciary Democrats? Or will he continue to escape accountability for his violence?

A serial rapist was elected twice as President, a fact we don't reckon with nearly enough. Now one of two major political parties has been molded in his image, run for and by violent sexual abusers who hate women.

The powerful executives who cozied up to Trump didn't oops accidentally forget about pendulum swings. They either: 1) Like the fascism 2) Calculated it was here to stay, so going along was savvy 3) Saw no real downside, no consequences when the pendulum swung Crucial to show them 3 was a mistake

DOJ arrested a guy for illegally voting in California—and he was a "vociferous supporter of Trump," according to his wife.

Especially since they were just fine doing so in 2016.

The only reason I can think of for this news not being absolutely everywhere is that large media orgs don’t want to be seen as putting their thumbs on the scales a week before election day. And that’s cowardly as shit.

The NYT story does not even include the word rape. Not once.

Not a big story, it's just the Attorney General working with an imprisoned pedophile to help cover up the pedophile President's crimes conducted with his best friend for 15 years, a pedophile who the President sent, as a birthday card, a drawing of a naked adolescent girl.

i am inviting anyone from a legacy media organization to explain to me why the house judiciary dems report on trump’s epstein’s ties and multiple allegations of rape isn’t worthy of extensively reporting on. i’m serious. i want to understand.

The way you stop these people is you put the fear of God into them.

It’s just so appalling and enraging how casual and commonplace this has become. I’m out of words.

Thinking a lot about 2019 when a House committee subpoenaed Trump Hotel DC financial statements from GSA, the GSA chief did not comply—and there were no consequences. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Who do I give to to get this in front of as many Michigan voters as possible?

I don’t think we should get used to a man this wealthy, this full of hate and this willing to demonize a small minority having so much power in our economy and in our politics. To defend democracy, we must defeat the oligarchs.

this might rank as one of the most important outcomes of the night if it happens. would give dems the ability to begin to make north carolina a democracy

It's really damning. The accusations are numerous and well-supported. But I was really struck by the descriptions of Trump's behavior -- the name dropping, strong-arming, and attempts to buy off silence. His gross rivalry with Epstein. It's all so familiar. It's shit he's been doing his entire life.

I'm going to try to do this cleanly. Today's right wing governments are networked to each other. Those networks are well-documented. You can read about them in books. Following the elections in one node of that network is good practice for understanding the U.S. node.

Beyond disgusted by even more rape allegations against the President of the United States. "In total, more than 25 different women...have independently accused Donald Trump of rape, sexual assault, or other sexual misconduct." Report w/ new details: democrats-judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-su...

NEW: "Donald Trump was an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse of young women during the mid-to-late 1990s," per new House Judiciary Dem report. Report has new allegation that Trump raped a 24-year-old and then promised the victim a visa & NYU admission, demanding she stay quiet.

pretty clear evidence that republicans in the US losing any election going forward are going to always beg for a coup if they lose. lots of people will have to go to jail

Trump is already on record linking federal aid to his preferred election results. Dems have the evidence if Trump withholds aid. Make him answer for it.

As I've said, this is either an impeachable offense that Democrats act on or it's a new precedent.
